Sent issues to Tech Support

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:27 pm

My Email to Bethesda Softworks Technical Support: I am playing Fallout New Vegas (or rather trying to play it) on the xbox 360 slim. I have done clearing of cache, system and game. I unplugged everything from the USB ports. I have tried starting new games. I am still having a lot of issues that are making the game unplayable. It seems to freeze a lot since the last update, during loading screens, going into VATS, or just walking around in some places, and sometimes when I try to save the game. I have tried to use the suggestions on your forums and none of it has helped. Some other issues I have are not being able to complete certain quests and 1st person mode is almost unable to be used due to the fact the characters arms get in the way of what I am trying to look at/ shoot, and some times this causes the view of the pip-boy to be off and you cant use it due to being unable to see the screen of it.I am just wondering when another patch or update will be out on the 360 and how long it will be. Because in the mean time, I am not able to get anything but a terrible experience trying to play this game and all I have is a 59.99 paperweight that locks up my xbox 360s.

Reply: Hello, For now please try a previous save and/or new game. I do not have any information on any upcoming patches.
Best Regards, (the persons name)

For some reason, I was wanting to hear just a little more...*sigh*

and i got to say, if the other solution is "start a new game" ... well they might as well stop doing RPG, cuz that's npt exactly the type of game where you start a new game on a whim ...

ha well. at least you did something. The guy didnt knew about an upcoming patch, but that doesnt mean there wont be any.

This game is so great but so flawed.

Its all about the money though unfortunately. Maybe if people refused to buy new DLC until a proper bug fix patch is made it might help

Shame on them, but shame on the people who complained of glitches, still bought dlc, then complained some more. You're the reason why lackluster patching has become so prevalent with games....why spend money testing and patching? They'll just keep buying anyway!

One would hope that pride in one's work and maintaining customer loyalty would be enough to ensure a quality product, but apparently not.

All you can do is show 'em how you feel with your cash. They svckered you once, don't let them do it again.

I actually did buy the DLC, but I didn't have many issues until the 2nd patch came out...

I wouldn't be shocked if that is true, they must be pretty busy with emails I bet.

I did send an email to tech support, and got the same answer (although I told them in the email I tried starting a new game). I sent a second one telling them I did what they asked me to (to start a new game) and they told me to clear my cache and reinstall the update. I sent them a 3rd message telling them I did that and that was it, no more responses and they promissed me a response in 4 business days. That was december last year, still waiting.

If it was about money then there wouldn't be patches that came out to fix anything. as for not buying the DLC the only ones you punishes is Microsoft and PSN.

Currently there isn't other games out there that have there bugs and glitches in them. Every game that is great like ME2 or the Halo series are flawed.

Also try PMing Gstaff for any suggestions. Gstaff was more helpful than Customer Service.

No and no.

Of course it hurts Obsidian when you don't buy their DLC.

And we're not talking about a few bugs. People compare this to other big releases and go, "Look XYZ game had some bugs too." Sure, every game that comes out has bugs. New Vegas was on a whole different level, though. It was as though it was still in beta-testing when released. The community worked hard to report bugs and it took MONTHS for a comprehensive patch to be released for consoles.

And the lack of communication between the developers and the community (on their own boards) is almost insulting.

Many issues still aren't resolved. I simply shelved NV. It's a good game, but it'll never be great.

What we have here is a lack of communication...It has been over a month and we are yet to hear anything about another patch! The support for this game is like they have the first few steps then they lost the rest of what they should do!
ie Is your monitor on? Is you computer on? try reinstalling...ok what now? hello?

sorry, I guess I feel ranty today. :brokencomputer:

How about acknowledgment from the company that they royally [censored] up this release and cannot ethically accept any awards for this game that somehow got nominated for RPG of the year....

If this was a Japanese software house, the CEO would be committing seppuku by now
