Seriously bad mouse lag

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:02 am

It's 2:45am, I'm too tired to post my specs, but I have a £980 gaming computer. Yet for some reason I get terrible frame drops in cramped locations. I know you're probably thinking "Your PC must be crap". GTA IV, Dead Rising 2, Bad Company 2 etc - Highest settings, therefore it has to be something with the game. Any workarounds?

(It even autodetected I should play on Ultra-high settings, yet I can only run it smoothly on medium...)

I had the same initially, so I unticked HDR on the pre-game options menu. Seems to have fixed that issue. My main problem is I get the lag and frame rate drop using an emulated 360-controller with my F3 settings.

Try fiddling with your graphics card settings, that may help.

Do you have an Xbox controller plugged in? If you do then unplug it.

Glad it helped. I can't wait for an official fix for this, though.

Yah, right. Good luck with that hope as that dll hack fix (and a damn good one) was around from Oblivion days to fix issues with the same engine back then.

How long does it take to fix the underlying cause? Hmm?

Hey, I"m all for hope but I like mine layered with decent amount of reality in the face.

I'd never seen it until NV. No such problems in Oblivion, or Fallout 3 (with this same hardware).
