Seriously thinking of getting an Xbox...

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 11:20 pm

So i have a ps3 and had an xbox for a while, but i traded that in and now have a lot of trade in credit at gamestop, i know if i trade in my ps3 (which by the way seems to be getting on in years) i can have enough to buy an xbox and all my favorite games (Like skyrim) But i dont know it it's the right long term investment, i know that a lot of games get xbox exclusives and stuff, but is skyrim really going to feel better on the xbox or will i end up missing my ps3.

Well you have to think beyond Skyrim.
Look at the exclusives of each and the performance of each. (Between you and me, I heard the PS3 can't handle large saves!)

Skyrim is better on 360 than PS3, but even better on PC. I'd say make your decision on the plethora of other games that come with the switch though. For example, Halo/GoW and many other titles are 360 exclusive, while PS3 has exclusives like The Last of Us, etc. Choose which one has better games imo and stick with that

Yeah, I regret not getting a gaming PC. You should forget about consoles and move on to PC gaming.

OP, don't tell me you're actually going to fall for Microsoft's half-baked exclusivity plan.

Well it just seems that 9 times out of ten (not just with skyrim) ps3 seems to be the odd one out, PC will have something like mods and it's easier to fix bugs, xbox will have some type of exclusive content and ps3 will just kind of sit there.

What is it you hate? I played an Xbox for years and recently built my rig. I still use the same HDTV and the same controller. It looks better, plays the same and I can mod the game to create my own housing and followers. Not to mention all the epic mods that are produced by teams that are actually developers themselves.

I wouldn't but a new console right now, considering how close the next set of consoles is. That is, unless you can pick one up for very cheap, which probably wouldn't be too hard.

PC>XBOX360>PS3 version of the game.If you have the money go for the PC version and if not the 360 one.If he wants to buy a 360 so let him be.It's his money after all. Also the 360 s model is very cheap right now.I would say go get the box.

Xbox 360 hardware is very superior against the cheap PC models you can buy.

I think it's vice versa...now and the next 12 months is the perfect time to get the xbox...it's cheap now and it will be even cheaper in a few months.

Wait!!!! I just used math and figured out i might be able to buy both without trading in my ps3. Quick question which is going to be the better bargain the 4g xbox 360 or the 250g.

Xbox all the way, LOVE pc, I however don't really like playing TES on it, usual just use it for total war games, prefer xbox.

The 250gb model is the better choice.Installing games is a feature you don't want to miss on a console once you've tasted it on the 360.So my suggestion would be 250gb s model.

Depends entirely on how much disposable income OP has.

If you are comparing a $299 Xbox vs a $299 PC, the Xbox would outperform the PC in terms of gaming. That being said, I do say to the OP, its best to save your money and build a good gaming PC that would outperform the consoles.

I say $700 is decent to start (excluding monitor).

Move on to PC gaming, better graphics, better mods, better controls.

It's literally better everything.

You can get the 250gb model for 200$ so that's really cheap.

If he can afford a good gaming PC,absolutely.I played morrowind on PC and with Oblivion,i bought it on xbox360 first and a few years later i bought/played the GOTY edition on PC.I'am probably going to do the same thing with Skyim.
