Servers and England!

Post » Sun Oct 09, 2011 8:46 am

So I am curious and this is my first direct questions at gamesas.

First, When the game is running and all that, it will be available to Europe and that with Masthead Studios also working in Bulgaria (i.e. within the EU) therefore it would be available to us?

Second, will these servers be local to Europe or will we be connecting to the US? Or are locales not that important in pertinence to the game? I only ask as I have mates on both sides of the Atlantic and if it is like WoW or some of the others it may be selective as to where I'll be gaming.

Lastly, this is to players on the forum. Who is European here? Also, who is English? Just curious if I have any fellow Englishmen on here. I notice siwelmail is from England, be cool if we could make groups. Be the Fallout expats or something (to keep in concept with the game that is).

Cheers,

My opinion on this is that USA and EUROPE should have complete IP blocks on the other server, as say events etc will be out of time zone etc

But then Europe would be covered with not just english languages, so possible extra divides by language/by country, WITH BLOCKS, I would like to see. As long as there is a europe specific server, without a flood of USA IPs, then I'll be happy.

Why not just have one big server, like star trek online did. Then every one has their own corners of the world to go to.

A map the size of Germany has been created. On average most mmos will have between 100k-250k players, normally if it drops under the 100k mark they go free to play. I would say at most one million people will be playing FOOL. So One million people, in a space the Size of Germany could be easily done.

A language filter for npcs menus ect can be selected at the installation screen, and could be changed any time in the options menu. This way the fall out community can grow as a hole and you do not need to worry about paying a extra 10 bucks or what ever to change server with your character just to play with your friends.
It can work quite well if done correctly.

Events will most likely be session-al ,rather then based on a day, or hour. Exceptions being Christmas and news years day.

This way Americans, Russians , Brits, Fins, Sweds , French and all players can come together.
