Setting up scenes problems

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 4:12 pm

Hi to not open further threads I hope to use this thread to post my probs in scene ...

so far I have a set of ncps doing stuff and it works but when I trigger a dragon on the scene , it arrives and he starts combat but not the npcs , the dragon avoid doing the planned sequences like grab a npc , kill another etc , even if I set up that he can't be interrupted in any way as well as all the actors are ininterruptable by the scene and the scene itself ends only with the death of the dragon .. tough it doesnt work the dragon just sticks in air ...

I gived him patrols / attack using weapon and grab actions I tried all possible combinations even just no action at all and moving the dragon near a reference but is always the same , either he fights alone or sticks in air not performing the required stuff ...

the npcs do nothing and just stick waiting or move around ....

S othe suspect comes to me that the scene may be are not used to make a combat? I checked the MQ104 scenes I placed all similar like the grab markers the patrol markers , the landing markers etc but the behaviour are the same , if the dragon is in combat he uses the landing markers but keeps going in and out of water or buidlngs even ifI setup the markers to have a radius max that is not intermixing in water etc....

So far I am finding impossible to perform the following actions in a scene :

Kill a npc

Make the dragon not pass throught buildings

Make dragon land where I tell it to land when I want

Make the dragon grab an NPC

Make the dragon perform anything

Force the npcs to use a particular weapon , they keep equipping the one they have ininventory despite I give them package of Use a specific weapon in their inventory

Nothing is working !!! I am doing stuff just wrong since days ? I am wasting my time couse this stuff will never work ? or There is just a bug? I woudl at least to knowthat so I will stop trying ....

You could try delving into coordinate 3, -20 and try to figure out how Beth did it

I think I've read though that some of the things are hard coded. True or not I don't know

Yes did ant tried to imitate but even the simple stuff do notcwork I gived alias actors bow inquest and swordnin normal inv , but they always take out the sword whe. I tell to use the ranged wepon package...

For the dragon seems that for some reason it do not gets inside buildings but I didnt notice any special object script ot condition to prevent this apart my be a set of flight markers that I placed as well but still don't offer a collision avoiding altough they flight a bit better

The dragon grab does nothing I set it up as in the scene of mq104 and gived an actor alias as target but it just dont care for it

Ai gived another landing on perch marker but it also doesn' t consider it...

Also ai have set the scene to end and let the battle start with setting nocs faction and the dragon factions as enemy but the npc just walk here and there doing nothing even if they have weapons bows and arrows...

As for the npc kill command dont work ... The script compiled but the npc stand alive as nothing was...

As I said...I read a thread here on the forums where someone was trying to do what you are trying to do. I don't know whether that person figured it out or not but I remember more than one person saying that some of the things were hard-coded.
