Shadow issues in 3D

First post! :)

Great game Bethesda. Well it was up until patch 1.5. I've played the game in 3d since it came out and its very hard to go back to 2d. So much so that I'd rather not play until the shadow issues have been dealt with.

In the mean time is there a way to revert back to 1.4 on Steam or via the DVD?

I've attached a linked 3d screen shot (taken at 15% depth) that shows the issues I'm having. It's a zip file with one file inside [TESV06_50.jps] 345kb

I hope there is a resolution soon.

Google Helixmod and look at his gamelist for Skyrim 1.5.

Helix does amazing work. He has great Nvidia 3D fixes for a lot of games.

Downloading third-party dll's is a risky thing. It also doesn't seem like a fitting solution due to the fact that Skyrim worked up until the lasted patch.

Well, Helix is well known and well respected. So, while I agree that third-party DLL's is risky, I feel it is safe with Helix. Unless Bethesda gives an option to revert to the old shadow method, I think 3D will just not work well with a vanilla game. Maybe a future patch or Nvidia driver release will fix something. But, also as a bonus, Helix's solution also greatly improves the 3D experience by improving the water (which was always messed up in 3D) and giving you options to change the HUD screen depth via hotkeys. I found his solution invaluable even before 1.5 came out and changed the shadows.
