I figured I would post this on these forums as it has been a topic of discussion on the gamespot forums and I wondered this as soon as I started playing the game. The shady hat is in the guide, but it has been known to be wrong from time to time. Most people mentioning this topic have stated they can't find it, other trolls state they have it just to upset people and others mistake it for a pre war hat and various other pieces. I loved the shady hat in fallout 3 and am curious if anyone has any input on the bethesda forums, as to me it is a sought after piece of equipment.

Well I browsed the Fallout Wikia and it says nothing about the Shady Hat. If you want I can give you it's based id so you can add it to your inventory (PC).

I'm not playing on pc, I'm playing on 360 but thank you anyways. Is it possible that a bug is preventing it from being placed on an NPC or in random loot? Maybe it is a DLC only unique.

It probably doesn't exist. Might have been part of an earlier build and was cut out. Might be in the game files simply because it got carried over with other Fallout 3 content.

I haven't heard of many guns being in the actual code, and also mentioned in the guide. So in other words these other ported content being available in vegas and mentioned in the guide. I just find it really hard to believe that the only misplaced clothing piece is also one of the most loved.
