It totally depends on what you want to play? Al three melee styles have their pro's and con's.

1h+Sheild for Light Armor, Quick Achilles type fighting style.

2-h Orc beserker that wears heavy armor for increased defense.

No comment on DW, I am expirimenting it myself.

The Gods gave you two hands, and you use them both for your weapon... I can respect that.

Enough said.

There's some good unique 2 handed battleaxes and hammers in the game. Too bad there's next to nothing for greatswords :(

If you want to play offensively, I mean REALLY offesively, dual wielding is the way to go apparently. But even then 2hs can constantly stagger enemies, and do more damage in a single hit, whilst retaining the ability to block. (not that you really will.)

I like all the styles. I think 1h and shield is the rewarding for me. Nothing beats shield bashing for me.

If you want to be a warrior, you will (given time) be able to be good at all of them. I reccomed a 2handed weapon and light armor. This is a technique that allows you to move fast and deal good damage. THe downside is you will be horrible at blocking so it's for very offensive players (like me).

I have played several warrior types. The 2H with a greatsword was fun and effective. But the most fun was the DW chars. Once you get the DW damage perks, you can deal a devastating amount. Taking the speed perks, along with the Elemental Furry shout, basically turns your char into a blender.

As for two-handed weapons, I personally likes axes the best. Warhammers are really cool too. I don't like greatswords, if I am going to use two-handed weapos, I am doing it for the most damage-per-hit.

That's the way I use to think. Then I realized that i could kill them faster with greatsword. They don't differ in damage enough to off set the number of swings landed. I opt for damage per second.

DW= most offense
1H+shield= most def
2H=better offense than 1H, better defense than DW
Power bash with 2H does very good damage and staggers allot, sweep perk is sweet
I prefer 2H.... :)
