Yes, bullying is terrible.
There are many social injustices in this world.
But what's done is done, and justice must be delivered.
People need to understand that all the things that drive people to do this, all the things that happened to them, none of it has to do with society, it has to do with humanity.
Its like when people say x religion and its faithful are ignorant, no, humans are ignorant.
The thing is, the USA* has had about as many knowing school shootings as
the rest of the 'Western' world combined. To me that says the problem is not simply that humans are humans, there's failures somewhere in the support, mental health services, or suchlike. Possibly culture and all that, too, but I'll leave that dog to people who have a few months to spare. As far as I'm aware, it's currently unknown whether the shooter actually had anything to do with the uni at all, so it may have been just a drug dealer or something, but but that doesn't change my initial reaction to the thread title .
*I'm not keen on shifting discussion to the country as a whole, for fear of inciting country bashing, but it's kinda unavoidable to at least mention it

.
EDIT: To summarise: "Bullying svcks " doesn't cut it when it's a reoccurring major problem. I'm pragmatic enough to accept that certain things will always happen eventually, but that doesn't excuse lack of action. Better identification of at risk individuals and better (more accessible, higher quality, fixing wahtever is lacking) treatment would go a long way, I believe. Especially combined with a reduction in the stigma associated with taking care of one's health when it happens to be mental.
