Not that I have seen. It looks like there was some code for it in the CK but it wasn't really used.

The Breton trader in Whiterun doesn't get replaced...

I dunno when he died but he's gone and his shop locked constantly. Its been about six months in game.

Please keep in mind that people like peter molyneux and todd howard promises just about anything to sell more games.

Apperently we could effect town economies in Skyrim and I still remember molyneux telling us there would be growing threes etc in fable.

However this is a truth with modifications, a shopkeeper can be replaised sometimes if there is a suiteble NPC to take over like a brother/sister, however thi is not the case with all shopkeepers.

They promised no extent. They never uttered the words "All shopkeepers will be replaced..." therefore it was not a lie, merely poor marketing.

And actually a lot of the data is present in the game - sabotage for example, or as one guy said other shopkeepers being replaced. A lot of it seems cut. Which is normal for video games; almost all are released without the features stated in early previews - this is why it's fun to go back to early previews of old games to see what they were like in early development.

the riverwood guy could just be common sense because it was his sister, try and kill the merchant in whiterun, the general store guy, see if he's replaced, as for ysolda, no idea, i do know that if you kill the owner of the tavern she replaces her.

Hulda at the bannered Mare gets replaced by YSolda. But you can't buy anything from her, and she doesn't givee you the option to ask for rumours (which means if you haven't started a quest involving the Jarl's children & a talking door, don't kill Hulda). You can still rent rooms though.

Edit: Ninja'd :ninja:

This is exactly the type of thing that happened in Oblivion. In their prerelease we were told a lot of rubbish we never actually saw when Oblivion was released. It`s happened in other games like Total War ones too. they even know half that stuff won`t be in while they`re talking. This is why I don`t follow their prerelease hype anymore as I didn`t with Skyrim- that way I don`t get so angry any more because I don`t have high expectations.

It`s sad. Some will call it just market hype. I call it bare-faced lying.

They`ll do it again next time. I hope one day I find a publisher\games Dev that keeps to what he knows for sure will be in or says nothing.

Some people buy a bethesda game find out there were lies then they complain about it. Then Bethesda releases another game and they buy it and complain about the lies. Then they buy their next game and complain about the lies. They keep repeating the same behavoir over and over.

Bethesda are such dirty liars. Criminal scum.

But seriously, this feature should have been implemented more. Some shopkeepers get replaced (Ghorza gra-Bagol in Markarth, Lucan Valerius, Hulda) but most don't. Belethor, for example, I accidently killed while in werewolf form, and he was never replaced.

he does have relatives, his brother is the guy who runs the drunken huntsman. However, I think he's too busy running his own shop to care about Anoriath's crappy meat stall
