Just thought I'd throw out my opinion on where New Vegas falls short. I still think the game merits a 10 out of 10 rating, for being (at least as of now) the best game I've ever played, but it's fun to complain from time to time.

1. No fast travel points on the Strip. This is just ridiculous and isn't something that should have been possible to overlook. You can't discover the locations without passing the credit check first, or using the monorail, so I just don't see the reasoning behind this. Epic, epic fail!

2. No random encounters. If there are any, I haven't come across them. This is one of the few things Fallout 3 did right that New Vegas didn't. Epic fail!

3. Lack of options regarding the Brotherhood of Steel. With a speech skill of 100 I can't talk Mr. House out of wiping the Brotherhood out? Seriously? They aren't exactly a big threat with such a low population.

4. Lack of power armor training options. I can buy that power armor is hard to use, but I can't buy that an intelligent character can't figure it out through trial and error. Should be a perk at level 10, or something that you slowly learn in stages if you don't get formal training after bungling around in the armor for hours.

5. Energy weapons svck. This would be easy to fix, just make the weapons a bit harder to get until mid-game, and have micro-fusion cells and small energy cells cut the target's DT in half.

6. There should be a Caesar's Legion follower, and more Legion bases to either get quests from or sack, depending on your character. Cottonwood Cove, Nelson, the Raiding Camp, and Fortification Hill. Am I missing any locations where I could go to kill Legion before the end of the game?

7. Casino jackpot limits. These make sense from a game balance standpoint, but not from a realistic, role-playing standpoint. Still, this is a really minor complaint since it's so easy to fix with mods.

8. The definite ending. Yeah, this one has been beaten into the ground, but I wish I could actually see the changes made by my presence in the Mojave and not just hear about them in the end credits. I hope they don't bandaid fix this with a tacky, poorly done addon like they did with Fallout 3.

9. This is really, really petty.. but if annoys me that the NCR officer gives you orders and dismisses you like you're a soldier under her command. You aren't, she isn't paying you, she has no authority over you and considering all the help you've given the NCR previously this kind of thankless treatment is a bit ridiculous. A dialogue option to point that out would be nice, or better yet the option to backhand her and tell her to get bent. Mr. House gives you thankless orders too, but in his case it's more appropriate because you already know what you stand to gain (lots of money, and a chance at becoming immortal like Mr. House).

10. Why can't I free the slaves in Fortification Hill? With every member of the Legion dead around them they continue to walk around slowly and say "excuse me". That's just sloppy.
