I have Skyrim currently on my Xbox, and I was wondering what the big differences are between Xbox and PC besides the obvious (graphics and mods). I only plan on buying one copy of Dawnguard, so I'm pondering getting Skyrim through steam, or just stick to the Xbox 360. Here is what I'm wondering...

- What are the load times on the PC? They are awful on the 360.
- Are there many game crashes? Usually I get at least 1 crash during a play session on the 360.
- Any other PC issues you think I should know about before I get it on the PC?

I've historically bought more than one copy of TES games, getting 3 Morrowinds and 2 Oblivions lol, so maybe I'll just be sticking with my trend I built my PC myself, it's more than enough to handle Skyrim on max settings so there will be no issues there.

Load times can get longish sometimes on the PC, other times they're fairly short. I occasionally have a CTD, but not often at all.

Mods are the big reason, though. And get yourself a wired 360 controller to use; I didn't care for keyboard-and-mouse with Skyrim.

What xbox do you have? Load times on mine are not long at all

well you can play dawnguard tomorrow for xbox or wait for a while for PC. PC obviously has more potential especially if you like mods. I would say game crashing issues would be dependent on how well you maintain your pc and what mods you use.

I have skyrim on both, I would say yes, get it again.

A pretty old one. I got a RROD on my first one, then got an arcade version and threw my old hard drive into it lol.

However, on my PC I got a SSD....lol

I find elder srcoll games more fun on PC but ever play it on skyrim yet I hope to soon

Pretty negigible, if you've at least 4 GBs of RAM and 1 of vRAM or so.

1 so far....in about 36 hours of gameplay. And that with 40 mods installed.

None that I know, if your specs are decent.

I would recommend getting it for PC. The ES games I have for PC haven't lost their replay value at all over the years due to mods.

Ya I bought xbox version on release, got a cracked version of skyrim for pc, played it like 3times after modding it, had a hard time patching it, so i bought it for pc, which i originally planned too anyways. Now im in hte process of modding it, which im pretty much done before i can really start playing

I've got Skyrim on both 360 and PC as well. The obvious benefits to the PC are of course graphics, mods and unofficial fan patches. The PC version also has the console commands which is a godsend for getting around bugs and also removing unwanted stuck items after some finished quests.

To be honest though I spent more time playing on the Xbox. One good thing though is having both means you can also fix problems with your xbox version since you can transfer saves between them. Xbox saves are .exs files and the Savegame.dat file within can be converted to a PC version by simply replacing the .dat with .ess.

Ever since I got the PC version I was able to fix around 15 annoyances and minor quest bugs from my game without having to start a new game. Totally worth it in my opinion. Also buying both was my way of "voting with my wallet" by showing a little more of my appreciation and support for Bethesda for making one of my favourite series of all time (I think the only game in the series I have not sunk countless hours into was Battlespire since I never got around to playing it)

Also if you are used to the Xbox controller, the PC version is compatible as long as you have the right hardware to connect to the PC so....yeah. No real downside.

The load times on PC are really short, normally takes 1-2 seconds.

Crashes can vary, it depends how many and what mods you have. Sometimes when I quicksave it crashes :/
