The fallout wiki is so much better. Not always 100% accurate of course, but so much better (and official game guides aren't always correct either, since they're written before game release). Just go, type in the name of a quest, or item, or whatever, and read the spoilers/info/possible glitches to your hearts content. All for free.
On an unrelated note, I played World of Warcraft for years after it first came out, and a friend bought me the original strat guide as a gift- it was pretty basic and not all that great for actual 'strategies', more of just a 'this is a troglodyte, this is an elf' kind of basic crap. But within 6 months, let alone a year later, almost all of it was out of date as the game was updated, patched and otherwise evolved. Game guides are just a snapshot in time, which quickly gets grainy and faded.
