Should have been an expansion

This game is simply not worth the asking price IMO. I have one question for the devs: Why did this game take two years to make? The exact same things FO3 suffered from, NV suffers from. It is not only the bugs. The terrain looks exactly like the Capital Wasteland. Nothing new in the landscape with the exception of some vegetation here and there. The majority of the quests (I'm only 30 hours in) have been pretty lackluster compared to FO3 IMO. A couple have been pretty good.

The dialogue, something that is supposed to be Obsidian's strong point, hasn't been great thus far. I remember laughing hard at some of the conversation choices I had during FO3, but I haven't experienced that yet. Also, and I know this is nitpicking, but what happened to the take all items option from the companion menu? It is a pain to sit there and manually remove every item from my companions. I like what they tried to do with the breaking down and creating of ammo, but I haven't really had a need to use those features. Same thing with the camp site feature. Both are cool, but they feel like fluff.

Bottom line, this feels like a slightly improved version of FO3. It should have been an expansion with a price around 40-45 bucks, and should have been called FO3: New Vegas. I know nearly no one will agree with me here, but I felt like this needed to be said. I tried really hard to like this game because I loved FO3, but I knew deep down that Obsidian would choke, just like they did with KOTOR 2. Right now, I'm literally just pushing through hoping my experience gets better because I haven't found a compelling reason to keep playing.

Another suggestion/idea that probably wouldn't have been possible: They should have tried to do something similar to what BW did with the ME series i.e. importing your vault character over to NV. This would go with the expansion idea. That way you could make your expansion, keep the same character from the previous game, and create new levels to be attained along with perks and such along with a brand new open world to explore. Would have went much better IMO.
