I should have known better...

I should have known better...after my Morrowind and Oblivion experiences and waited for the GOTY edition for PC, giving the modding community time to actually fix all the foul ups that Beth Soft was to haphazard to fix and get right in the first place. I asked from my wife to get me a copy of Skyrim for my existing PS3 ( since my fairly anemic aging computer needs replacing ), so I could at least play the game a few times, until my PC is eventually replaced with something stronger. I could then later get the GOTY PC version and mod it to my liking ( and have acccess to the community patches that will actually fix things ).

Not knowing of the PS3 issues before hand, I said to myself..."How bad can Beth mess it up"? I should have remembered my Oblivion days, and all of the "memory, lag and save issues" that the game had before the community fixed all of the many hundreds of issues the stock game had, making it a vastly more stable and enjoyable experience. Sadly, I drank the cool-aid of the stupendous trailer and totally forgot about all of those issues. What the heck was I thinking? Oh...wait, I guess I must not have...or I wouldn't have asked for the PS3 version for Christmas, though it sits on my bookshelf still in it's original cellophane wrapping. FEAR of the unknown and all the negative things I have read have made me wait for a patch to be released, to fix things, before installing and trying the game. I don't want to waste 30-40 or more hours of my life on some "time-bomb" waiting to blow up and possibly stop me from playing.

Seems Beth soft is at it's usual best...that of making a tremendous game in scope, filled with a stupendous amount of bugs, glitches and general foul ups, that should have been fixed before the game went gold and hit the store shelves...especially in this PS3 version.

I SHOULD have known better....

Why is it that the modders, who do thier "thing" for FREE are always better at fixing and making Beth's games both work and look better? While the "so called professionals" getting paid for thier efforts can't EVER seem to get it right?

Here's to hoping that 1.4 actually does something of what it seems to be promising...and isn't just another empty promise.

Well, then you're gonna know better for the next game  I would still play it though... You might get some quest bugs, lag problems but it's so fun playing it before all that happens. Start a game and play it until the patch comes out. If you're worried about your save games then back them up on a external hard drive or something. Just my two septims.
