We Should Have A New Perk Contest!

Post » Sun Jun 19, 2011 12:47 pm

Since Bethesda Softworks is going to be releasing some DLC soon, I think it would be a good idea to have another perk contest! Just like we did for Fallout: New Vegas. Leave comments telling what you think and fill out the poll saying what you think. Hopefully Bethesda can see this and we can have another contest!

@Meghan
You should have looked it up on the fallout website. In a perk contest, people submit their own made-up perks, and bethesda chooses one of them as winner, and puts it in their next game. P.S - pretty cool perk

I've always wanted a chance to share this perk idea I had, don't have a name for it, but I think it'd be nice and balanced.

"All your bullets now fire cleanly through their target, and straight into whatever is behind them!"

It would be better than a lot of the "increase this statistic" perks, and would be a very nice Guns equivalent to Meltdown.

Here's some ideas for a perk -
First Blood - Whenever you get the first hit in a fight, it does 50% more damage.

Free Falling - You had experience skydiving, and crashing! From now on, falls from long distances do half as much damage.

Just Kidding - Convince them you were just kidding! With this perk you get a second chance every time you fail a speech challenge.

Anyway those are some cool ideas for perks

Devil Eyed Bandit- Whenever you encounter a raider or the equivalent they are intimidated by your battle hardened gaze and have a chance of instantly fleeing from you during combat.

Wasteland Blues- The years in the American Wastelands have hardened you, you now are highly resistant to radiation and get a 10% health boost.

Lady Luck Smiling On Me- Gambling has payed off in the best of ways. From now on whenever you win at a casino game you get a 3 day max boost to your luck and perception.

Demon of the Wastes- Years of fighting outlaws and bounty hunters alike have earned you a reputation as a powerful legend. Whenever you use guns and Energy weapons you fire faster, more accurately as well as do slightly more damage than normal. However because of your reputation you will now encounter Bounty Hunters and Outlaws looking to make a name for themselves on a regular basis.

Bloody Mary- Whenever you fire a round into a fella, they feel it. Whenever you land a hit into the enemy torso they lose blood gradually until dead. However because of your recklessness you also receive the same penalty unless healed immediately.

Gunsmith- You are now able to craft your own guns using the right parts as well as several new unique weapons using the proper Schematics such as the Rail Way Rifle, or the powerful Nail Grinder.

Knife-smith- you learned how to make Shanks Shivs and Knives giving you a bonus to the damage you do with them as well.

Placebo-People believe your every single word, even to the point where it effects their own body chemistry. Opens up new dialogue choices when speaking with NPCs.
Heart Opener-Rigorous training with knives has allowed you to instantly kill any human (and some animals) enemy with a direct hit to the heart.

So the kings hair dresser follows you around? *facepalm.jpg* The reason he is face down in a puddle of blood tru story dat.

1 hour wait vendor re stock

increased AMR damage

ability to hand craft .50 incendary rounds

extra weapon mods? varible zoom scope for AMR, missile launcher scope,

worst perk would be "make campfire/crafting bench anywhere" i hope they never add it

my fave - respawn all enemies perk / restart game with current XP/Equipment (when at max lvl... maybe stuff in safe houses (Novac/strip) gets saved as well)

No...you cut your own hair...because you know, there's only one hairdresser in the entire game and you can only use him if you're a freaking King...maybe the character should have limited options for a hair cut...can't get too fancy when it's your own head

This sounds awesome, I could only imagine this, but with different ranks that include more and more animals. And if you have Wild Wasteland you could occasionally get a R.O.U.S. or two!

Actually it's only for rats, hence the name.
Sort of meant to be a jokish reference to Fallout 2's Rat God character.
Bringing in other animals might make it too powerful really.

@gabriel77dan wow those perks sound awesome. I also came up with another one. -
Evil Genius - You're an evil genius, but unfortunately you get a bad rep. You get a +2 Intelligence boost but a negative karma deduction.
