Should I restart because of new patch?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 3:02 am

I have about 38 mods installed and I’m concerned with how this new patch will effect my gameplay. I really don’t have any saves I care about as I have chronic restart syndrome... This is my first PC game in a LONG time so worried about how the new patch might break my existing mods/game... any thoughts?

If you're running mods I don't see the need for restarting since some of the authors may need to make their mods compatible with 1.6, so if I was you I'd wait it out for a few more days before updating as I've heard there's a lot of flickering and CTD issues.

I would suggest not taking 1.6 entirely, as it breaks the entire Companion questline, even on new games.

Issues were reported in the beta for 1.6 that were not acted upon. I would expect, as with previous title updates, that an incremental update will be along in a few weeks. That's not even considering what bugs might be uncovered once Dawnguard goes live for 360 users. I would hope that we'd see a substantial title update before Dawnguard is released on the PC and PS3 (i.e. July 26). Personally, I would wait for that unless you have been waiting for things like the navmesh fix, which is included in 1.6.

It has the potential to break the questline. As far as I know, there have been no confirmations that it actually has.
