I bought the Skyrim Collector's Edition at launch, and I wish to sell it. It's pretty much in mint condition.

The thing is, it's going for CHEAP right now on Amazon and Ebay. I thought it would raise in value, but apparently it's lowered. I also do not want to sell the actual game and case, just the dragon, art book, and box.

What do you guys think I should do? Sell each item individually? Sell it all together? What kind of price can I get?

Or should I just wait? Will the asking price raise significantly in time?

I think so. Besides which, you'll be making no profit now anyway, so there's no use in not waiting.

In 30-40 years it will start to raise in value, if it stays mint, and has the game. But there is no reason for the market price to raise, because supply has not been decreased and demand has not increased. It's simple economics.

Wait, now is the time its the price is decreasing, meaning when all those are gone they'll be a shortage because all the people that wanted to sell theres no longer have them. Which also means, there will still be people wanting the stuff so you can charge a higher price now because most people that want them have already bought them and there is no longer so many people selling them.

I'd buy the art book alone, but I don't trust people without forum Avatars.

No harm in just waiting until the price goes up, but it will probably take a while to raise significantly.

You have to wait some decades before you will be able to get a nice profit.

How much would you pay for the art book in mint condition?

Keep it in mint condition, once the 360 and ps3 are obsolete and Skyrim is considered a golden oldie, THEN sell it. I mean, a new copy of MGS 1 sells for 100 dollars on Amazon. Just be patient.

Are you insane?! Keep that stuff man I've got my collectors edition. Its the first collectors edition I have ever got for any game. SCREW SELLING MEMORABILIA.

Hold on to it. Coming from a gamer since 86. My wife and i were going through my "collection" in our basemant a few years back.....lets just say i have some games that are very valuable in todays market.

All mint (and working lol!) so somewhere and sometime down the line that collecter edition WILL be worth something (supply and demand) vanilla skyrim will be worth nothing because of how many were produced. But the collecters edition.....In say 10 years? Will go up in value when these kids nowadays hit their 30's.

All these collectors edition things are just overpriced dust collectors for your shelf...i doubt they would be worth much later in life but maybe your great grandkids could make a buck one day if you never open it or the game

I hear ya. But the reason why comics and BB cards dropped soooo much was in the 90's when comics and BB cards had a "resurgence" they absolutely flooded the market with them. I have a ton of those as well in my basemant.

Honestly, I dont actually know how many CE of Skyrim were made. If it was a hard number like some of the games from the 80's and 90's then that thing could get very expensive indeed. Or It could just become junk. But if its not taking up too much space...let it collect dust for another 10 years and give it a shot.

I'm not so sure. Back in the day a collectors edition meant something but now every AAA game has one and they make enough for the majority of people to get one at launch meaning theres thousands out there. Isnt releasing a CE just another way for publishers to get some more money out of the market, in the same way all films are 3D now?

I'll throw my 2 cents into this topic with my first post.
My advice would be to hang onto it.

I had sold the Alduin statue to try to recoup some of the cost of the CE, but later regretted it. When Best Buy and NewEgg had the CE for $60 I made up for it by picking up 2 more. Now both my son and I have a statue, and we were able to pass one of the Artbooks on to a greatful friend.

Thats what i tried to clear up in my following post. A game like skyrim (vanilla) has a near infinite number. So that will be near worthless monetary wise. Games from ages past especially "early" JRPG's, which i own many of were "niche" titles which had a hard number of copies produced. So they are actually valuable.

Again I am unsure if the CE of skyrim has a "hard number" if it does...then it will be worth some cash in the future.

Wow, if i ever got my hands on the Collector's Edition, i'd request it to be buried by my side.

I'm surprised that something valuable like this, is being sold for a cheap price. You know, if I was a millionaire. I'd pay you a million dollars for your Collector's Edition. Alas, I am poor. You should probably sell it together when it has increased in price.
