Silliest death kill animations

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 6:59 am

The game just made a slow motion animation of my character slaying a mudcrab with an arrow at point blank range. It actually made the event look dramatic.

When things really get trivial it's sublime.

Has the game shown you a really ridiculous animation?

I imagine the only thing more trivial than that would be barbequeing a mudcrab with flames.

/mmm...barbeque'd mudcrab....now I'm hungry!

I killed a Bandit with a firebolt and his body flew off of the fort wall and into a kettle. Even the silliest of landings become dramatic.

I've gotten the exact same one.

But what's up with the animations where the enemy doesn't die? I keep getting animations showing me attacking in whatever style but the bad guy is still two or three shots from death. Sometimes it's when they get staggered and there's just one more shot to go.... Actually, now that I think about it, it only happens when I'm using Destruction. The skill is so limp it fools the game.

Wrong - it happens with arrows as well and actually it's no big deal really I always think it adds a bit of drama to the proceedings and not only that but it means you can't rely on it telling you you've killed something.
As an adjunct to this it doesn't always happen on the "Last Man Standing" either, which is equally cool - (imho).

Since unarmed kill cams came out, I now beat any generic/weak NPCs on the road (farmers, couriers, etc.) to death to trigger the kill cams. The other day I triggered one on a bridge in The Reach, got the guy in a fireman's carry, then slammed him down on the raised part of the bridge. He died and then slipped over the edge into the rapids.

It happens with arrows to.. It basically shows why the killcam for magic and archery was left out to start with.. It doesn't seem to register fatal hits correctly 100% of the time..

On topic:
Dual fatality, my arrow fatal hit a bandit, while at the exact same time the bandit next to him was finished by Jenessa.. It should have been epic, but it looked like synchronicity dying.. (they died in the exact same manner)

The best thing is killing a falmer with a bow and watching them become paralyzed and spring up in the air like they're made of rubber.

I killed a falmer and the slow-mo shot had him do a triple flip in the air before coming back down to the ground. Epic win.

Shooting an arrow while standing on a ledge, only to see it end up in that very ledge at my feet and not in the enemy down on the ground. Had this multiple times. :stare:

Shooting an arrow and seeing it spectacularly miss its target. Always a panicking moment, as those are the times the cam kicks in when I'm shooting at the first one of multiple enemies, and they all come running at me immediately afterwards ...

Stabbing a dragon to death with my sword ... but I'm actually sitting on air next to its head and furiously stabbing that vile air. Which of course must've caused some sonic boom, which on its turn probably hit the dragon's ear drums and brains, and cause it to die in a very indirect way.

Oh man, I'd've liked to have seen that!

THIS! I hate the new kill cams for this very reason. I don't know how many times I've watched my arrow miss the target in slo-mo. Then you have that agonizing long wait before you can act again (okay, it's just a couple of seconds, but in combat that's FOREVER!)

I thought it was added through a mod called "Dance of death", because it looked so [censored] that bethesda couldn't possbly have added it to the game.

Apparently I was wrong...

there really is nothing like a slo mo zoomed in shot of your arrow missing the target by a foot....

Some mechanism on a wall in some dungeon was shooting Firebolts at me. I landed face first and went skittering across the floor and as soon as my body came to rest, face down, spread eagle, it shot one last firebolt right up my wazoo.

Hilarious! I love the kill cams.

I had decided to kill an elk in order to get some leather. I sneak up on it, dagger drawn and then, in animation... knee it in the groin before slitting it's throat. The throat slitting I can justify... perhaps I can have the venison kosher certified... but the knee to the marbles... Paul McCartney should take a DB contract out on me.

It is actually possible for the player to do the hilarious Giant trick of making enemies fly 5000000 miles into the air when hit. I've been using 2H swords a lot recently and i've had a few beasts fly vertically upwards for miles after being hit by it (bears and sabre cats), sadly i've not had this happen on a humanoid so far :(

Usually brain matter gets involved with stuff like that though. Ninja Gaiden 2s pulverized brain soup with the Tonfas is epic!
