Silly question on ammo recovery

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:11 am

Hey guys,

Whilst looking through the perks, I noticed that the 'Hand Loader' allows you to recover ammo casings more often. This got me a big '?' over my head as I have no clue as to recovering ammo casings in the first place.

So does this recovery process happen automatically while you're emptying your gun into your enemies and just get a % of spent cases back in your inventory? As I am always running around with a ton of crafting materials it may have gone unnoticed by me. So I figured I'd ask some of you guys if these spent cases just get put back into your inventory or if I have to scour the ground in search of little bits littering the floor :P

Greetz & thanks ;)

It's quite handy...and a big tip:

If you are arming Veronica, she loses all her cases. Give her energy weapons for ranged work....those 45-70's are too rare to let Ms Fumblefingers lose them.

At first I wondered where all these cases were coming from, because I know I was not picking them up anywhere......

Nope, you just unlock the recipes for all hand loads with Hand Loader. You have to scavenge cases from bodies or containers, or take them off the hands of merchants or even pickpocket spent shells off people.

But the amount of cases I've found as loot/in stores/whatever is miniscule

There is one ammo type the perk won't unlock, but it the perk is needed to unlock it later on.

At least you didn't spend 15 minutes trying to find your spent casings on the ground.

I was curious enough to try. Habit from going to the firing range.

I pick them up all the time off the ground.

Oh wait...we are talking about in the game.

I was referring to going shooting in real life ('in real life'... what a dumb way of putting it). Picking up brass is generally the first thing I end up doing. People just throw that stuff away and you can actually reload most of it. Wasteful!
