Simple weapon enchantdamage question

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:41 pm

Greetings,

So I have Dwarven sword with 39 base damage and 20 burning damage due to an enchantment.

I also have a lunar steel sword with base damage 50 and no enchant.

I've been assuming the enhanted dwarven sword is a no brainer thinking the extra burning damage equates to 20 damage giving me 59 damage. Is this actually the case? Are somethings resistant to burning as well??

Thanks

Enemies can resist and absorb elemental damage the same as you. For all intents and purposes, elemental damage enchants are incredibly lame, well actually all weapon enchants are pretty crappy. You are better going with the item with the highest BASE DAMAGE value that you can improve the highest.

Really and truly Fire is a decent enchant just because enemies take more damage when burning. You want to put Fiery Soul Trap on a weapon. You can do it with low Enchanting, you actually want it to be MINIMALLY effective but with a ton of charges. Just by killing stuff you get filled gems which makes it easy to recharge.
