Skills issue — most skills red and 03

Post » Mon Jun 25, 2012 10:14 am

I've been having a issue over the last week or so with Skyrim.

Most of my skills are red and 0 – 3 at best!?

I have been using no mods other than the official texture pack and a few other 'visual' mods such as lanterns of Skyrim.

I have tried to +1 to each skill and then -1 and it still remains like this.

Tried cure disease and also shrines and sleeping it off (I wish).

But it still remains. Attached two screens to show the issues and mods.

Any ideas — I would love a console command to just reset my skills to their previous states but I imagine that would be too easy!

FIXED: To anyone having this issue don't try to fix it using the above methods as its fruitless.

Try this — http://www.gamesas.com/help-red-skill-values-even-negative-t223180.html

I used ' player.modav skillname number ' (with the number you can add two by saying ' player.modav twohanded 2 ' this will add two points to two handed. Also ' player.modav twohanded -9 ' will minus 9 points.

All my skills are now white unless being affected by the armour I am wearing or perks etc.

Phew that was not how I wanted to spend an hour of my weekend but it was worth it!

Is there any way to view your actual skill level in the console or via another means? The reason I ask is that it may just be a menu display error, possibly due to visual mods and compatability with the recent patch. Eg you skill is actually 35 but showing as 5.

But in any case you should verify its a mod issue or not by testing the game without any mods and remnant files in the data folder.

Hmm I'm not sure on how to do it via console but when I'm playing say I take damage etc and I level up my light armour. It shows the correct number (as far as I'm aware anyway — i'm not stat mad but seeing red an zeros is never a good sign!)

Updated the first post to include mod list.

Thanks for the tip on starting without mods never occurred to me!

EDIT: Quick test and without the mods it's the same. Tried waiting, potions and shrines with no mods too. :(

EDIT: Also I'm running the latest beta patch on Steam. Even tried a save game editor just too to set all my skills to the correct values and still I have the red skill numbers at 0 or at best 3?

Seems like there is an effect/curse etc but it's invisible!
