SKSE Refuses to Work

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 8:37 am

I've got the new version of SKSE and I've got Skyrim 1.5. The new version should be compatible with Skyrim 1.5. But I've copied the .exe and the .dlls to the Skyrim folder but when I use the SKSE loader it claims that it's only 1.4 compatible, even when it says 1.5 compatible in the readme and the website. What's wrong?

Maybe try copying the files over again, because it sounds like you missed one.

Make sure one of those DLL files was skse_1_5_24.dll. Also make sure SKSE is version 1.4.14. If the one you downloaded came with skse_1_4_27.dll then it's the wrong version, if that's the case here is a link to their homepage that has the latest version pasted on the front.

It looks like a beta update went live temporarily - we assume it will be back. We've updated a beta version to support 1.5.26.0: http://skse.silverlock.org/beta/skse_1_04_15.7z . I am assuming you managed to get the 1.5.26.0 update of Skyrim while it was live.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I've got to ask, what does the beta update do? *hopes it fixes crafting bug*

Got no clue - we just saw it arrive so we updated. I would imagine it contains fixes from the last build. My first guess (though I haven't looked) is some sort of fix for the crashes to desktop when changing/loading cells. But really could be anything.

Ugh, when I use the new version of SKSE it says 'please update Skyrim.' When I use the last version it no longer says 'You're using an unsupported version of Skyrim' but it gives me an application load error.

Pink - what version of Skyrim are you using? Right-click on TESV.exe and choose properties. Go to the Details tab and report what the Product and/or File version is. If it is 1.5.24.0 then you want SKSE 1.4.14. If it is 1.5.26.0 then you want SKSE 1.5.15. If it is neither - let us know.

1.5.24

EDIT: I think the problem may be Script Dragon, which I'm updating atm. When I removed Script Dragon to see what happened SKSE said 'Where's Script Dragon?' and with it in there SKSE said 'YOur game version not supported!'

SKSE does not check for script dragon. Make sure you're using the right version of Script Dragon for 1.5.24
