Hm for me it gives same result like tesval except i got little lag with it while tesval is fine.

Suggest your try both and use the one that works better for you.

And don't use both they do the same thing.

35% increase in fps for me and overall smoother. Cake to intall/uninstall. No drawbacks that I can see... Highly recommended.

Its a mod very similar to the one called TESVAL, in fact Skyboost is based on TESVAL but with a diferent aproach on language and with a little bit extra funcions added to the original code.
Their primary function is to add some X86 optimizations to the Skyrim engine, that bethesda seemed to "forget" to add, while removing some redundant operations in the vanilla code that were adding extra CPU consumption. Its more noticeable in cities or places with a lot of CPU bottenecks, generaly places with a lot of NPCs and AI scripts going round.

Both TESVAL and Skyboost work realy well in the vast majority of cases tested by the comunity, can range from 2FPS up to 20 depending on system.

TESVAL requires you to have SKSE installed, Skyboost doesnt require anything else than its instalation.

In my personal case, Skyboost is 1-2 FPS faster, but TESVAL provides a more "smooth" screen movement, even in zones i have constant 60FPS, TESVAL just seems a little bit more stable in my system, while Skyboost is a liitle more "jumpy" in FPS fluctuations. Just test both, but not both at the same time.

Hope this clears you up a little

SkyBoost uses TESVAL code, The performance difference at this point is minimal, but it supports Win8 (the main reason for it branching away from TESVAL).

The difference for a lot of people including myself is around a 10% boost in FPS. Not exactly minimal...

I think he meant the performance difference between TESVAL and SkyBoost, not the performance difference between Vanilla Skyrim and using one of these mods.

Currently, I'm using TESVAL with SKSE, but may give SkyBoost a test run as well. These are all still in their infancy; so we should see many more improvements to come, particularly once the CK is released... someday... maybe... I hope... :ermm:

Yeah that's what I mean. For example, I get a 25% FPS boost with TESVAL and a 35% FPS boost with SkyBoost, thus the 10% difference between the two.

I wish I got a 35% boost. I probably just get a 1% boost(1-2 more FPS).

For me Skyboost is awesome. Gives me stable 58 - 60 fps in Whiterun.

The author says Release 3 should be out any day now with additional optimization.

Gone from 30-40 in trouble spots in Whiterun to constant 55-60 everywhere in the city, performance is now extremely smooth in outdoors areas and the frame drops when you look at distant objects is a lot less noticeable and most of the time its a constant 60.

Brilliant fps and performance increase and simple to install, I'd highly recommend it.

I chose the most demanding area for me, where my fps drops below 30... i play on Ultra with almost every graphical enhancement mod there is... at that spot, my fps went from 29 to 38... that's HUGE!

Thank you Mr. Bale.

I notice that I get 30-40 FPS(normal - 20) in a very specific spot/angle while in Dragonreach. It's very specific, as in stand exactly here and look exactly that way.
Is this just a vanilla thing or is SkyBoost causing it?

I noticed sometimes it gave more, and sometimes it gave the same fps increase as TESVAL. Once or twice it seemed 1-2 fps slower though.

However I've decided to stick with skyboost for the time being :) both are fantastic though and the authors can't get enough credit for their work.

Yeah, people are claiming release 3 gives them up to +10 FPS over TESVAL in the FPS killer areas.

Holy cow......

Vanilla Skyrim top of Dransreach steps: 35 fps
With SkyBoost: 51 fps

Running 1920x1080, 8xAA, FXAA=Off, AFx16, custom ini with settings mixed between Medium, High and Ultra, uGrids=7

My system:
i5 2500k (not OC because I had to unOC it because of BF3 crashes)
Radeon 5870 1GB
8GB RAM
Xonar Sound Card

I'll put this post in the mod thread too.

Just throwing in that with revision 3, I get 50-60fps everywhere, with rare drops to 45.

Ultra, 1080p, 4x AA, 16x AA.

Edit: Now playing with 2xAA and FXAA. Much smoother, and less AA isn't really noticable.

The whole reason for TESVAL's existence just makes me shake my head in wonder... Really, Bethesda? You forgot to use even the most basic compiler flags for your release binaries? What, is your entire team co-op students? I mean, they're awesome at creating a game world and immersive story, but my god are they horrible programmers.
