Skyforge armor

What is the point of the Skyforge armor (Ancient Nord Armor)? It requires the same materials as Steel, but has armor and weight similar to Iron. It's listed under the Daedric tab, but is nothing like Daedric armor.

To look badass. The ancient nord helmet is the only one with horns that looked decent on my argonian.

Well for one thing... Its under Daedric because of the skill level needed to make Daedric... The game is suggesting only the most skilled smiths can make the ancient armor. As for the other questions, I dont know

Sounds more like a glitch to me. But nice try trying to make up a reason for it lol I doubt Beth was like "hey lets put it under Daedric cuz its badass! And people will understand its meant to be reference to the fact it's only made by crazy awesome smiths!!!!"

Skyforge armor is a stylistic choice, but Skyforge Steel and Nord Hero (also made at the Skyforge) weapons do as much damage as Elven ones while weighing even less.

It's just a brand.

So far, I like the Plated Steel better. (my smithing isn't as high as I'd like.)

For us Purebred Nords, It's neccessary, and it just looks so freaking awesome. As for being under Daedric, hoping that's just a bad placeholder, or maybe because you're bounding an Ancient Nord's soul to it?

Is you try really really hard with enchanting and potions and all that you can improve the armor better then daedric, pretty much any set can be improved beyond the armor cap if your skills are good enough.

I use it, (the armour and the weapons) and they look awesome, if you want to rp as a Nord Patriot you should be wearing this armour and weilding one (or all) of the Nord hero weaponry.

I rock Nord hero swords and ancient Nord armor except for the helm, which is the Helm of Yngol. I look like a living draugr deathlord. It is an awesome set with an awesome helm. There's no better way to go to Sovngarde.

Can it really reach the same potential as Daedric if you smith them both with maxed smithing, alchemy, and enchanting?

Some of them require a perk or two in the Heavy Armor tree to reach the cap (at 567 armor rating), but any armor has the potential to reach the cap boosted by the crafting skills - even Leather and Iron.

Where is that ?

I use it on my nord to decorate my home, and give to my thanes sometimes. I will use the glitch to mkae it amazing though. My nord is an assassin who uses light armor, so sadly thi armour is not an option for him. Now my dunmer and breton who use eavy armour, they may use it. Both have nordic blood in them too, its the reason my Breton returns to Skyrim from daggerfall and my dunmers family fled from MW, and his mother married a nord, hence he lives in skyrim, worships the nine and some deadra, and will be wearing this armour on occaion... I wonder if they will react differently to my dunmer/breton being in soverngarde.

I'm trying to figure out how to craft fur armor, cause I think it looks the absolute best. Is it capable of catching up with glass or, god help me, dragon scale?

My barbarian was rocking fur armour well into his 20's until he picked up Saviours Hide.
The one thing I do know is that it isn't effected by ANY light armour perks.

Actually I do quite well even though I'm not decked out in dragonplate or daedric. I did smith it a bit but it's not exploit smithed, all my stuff is unenchanted but only things that give me problems are briarhearts. Also it's fun to use only unrelenting force or disarm while decked out thusly, especially on the same deathlords that gave me problems several levels ago. Also it's sad that my Mage character, who eschews armor doesn't get to enjoy loot as much as my nord. And my khajiit thief just stays in the cities mostly... I might roll another Nord warrior just to enjoy dungeons again.

I'm confused. If fur armour does not benefit from light armour perks, how does it reach the cap?

I think he meant Savior's hide isn't affected by light armor perks. That's what I read anyways.

In order to get the highest quality you don't need the daedric perk just 91 smithing. This will allow you to upgrade to legendary. However, like some have mentioned before if you make a smithing set with enchants your upgraded legendary weapons can be made even better

Eorland also offers Wolf Armor, which is equivalent to steel in every way (upgrades using the steel perk) but weighs about 40% less and looks much better when worn. Particularly the chest piece. If that's your bag, baby.

Lydia looks good in it. I think you know what I'm saying.

Talkin' 'bout her chest.
