Skyrim bathrooms....

...they make me chuckle.

The whole idea of them, first of all.
And that they are inside. Sometimes inside a cave.
And that there's often "A Children's Annual" nearby. (It makes me think of the Seinfeld episode when the bookstore lady won't take back the book from George: "It's been flagged.")

What are these 'bath rooms' you speak of? I've never seen one...

Even more disturbing is when you see one with a restore health potion sitting next to it. Someone's got issues...

I always thought that it was canon that no-one had an anus in the Elder Scrolls.

they never had any toilet back in the day. the same with prison's back in the day before toilets. they use buckets for the solid and liquid waste before the age of porcelain toilet.

Up until I was about 10, my grandparents lived on nice acreage in Arkansas. They didn't have running water or electricity, or anything but an outhouse for body functions, and a bowl on a stand for washing. When we needed to bathe, we heated water on the wood stove to pour into the wash boiler. In 1957 they got both running water in the house and electricity. They still preferred well water for drinking and bathing, and never gave up the wood stove until they sold the property in the late 60s.

Now admittedly that was a very long time ago - but while in the "last" century, it was still in the "modern era". I actually got a good chuckle out of the buckets etc. in this game.... nothing like that in most other games I've ever played!

No, no, no! Skyrimites call them chamber pots . There are some in Fort Dunstad including the books.

the bucket give's you a sense of nostalgia of the era and period in-game.

I can't believe it.... I have never seen one of those. Now I've got to find one!

No wonder there's so many ruined books around...

We need a mod that adds a bucket vendor. His name? Chic Sale, of course. Now I know Serethil will get that one! Also, I finally know why we need those ruined books. :blush2:

I think it's awesome that they exist. There are a lot of details like that in the game that really make it spot on.

There is one with a healing potion sitting next to it. I can only assume that's for hemorrhoids.

The horses did...

Much to the dismay of many players

Consider Skyrim's cultural setting. It's like pre 1800s. With out houses and makeshift toilets.
