Skyrim is Beautiful!

Hello

Well ive been playing skyrim since the release and all the others long before that. And to be honest i was one of the people who were slightly dissapointed with the game just for the fact that it was getting simpler and everything was becoming more hand holding. But ive been blind this whole time. Underneath what everyone is calling simplicity there is something that bethesda has implemented on purpose and in my opinion it is one of the most beautiful things in gaming nowadays.
Bethesda constintly refers to the player being who he/she wants to be. And this was implemented. And its quite a big thing. But in order to appreciate you need to be able to use your imagination. You see after watching the making of skyrim videos ive seen that Bethesda wanted to make it so that instead of there being loads of scripted quests that the player has to follow, they have created the radiant quests which allow the player to solve it in anyway they want and to create up there own story. because after all isnt that what happens in real life.
Now think back to Daggerfall. Many people argue that the elderscrolls games are nowhere near as complex as that game was, And in most places i agree. But if you ever asked for work from people like the fighters guild or the thieves guild you would know that the quests were extremely generic and where almost always fetch or bounty quests. And to be honest is was very similar to the radiant system. The only difference between that and skyrim is that skyrim has much better game mechanics which allow the player to immerse themselves more.

Now think about the character creation system. Whilst i still love a good old character creation, The new system is also something to be praised. Although it is always nice to have a defined character the new system allows you to do this. Just do it in your head instead of the game having to tell you who you are.

Just use your imaginaton and think about all of the little things and craft your own story with the things in the game.

Now remeber that this is just my opinion and please feel free to criticise.

I'm perfectly happy with Skyrim, I can't find many complaints with it, a couple of small things but I'm incredibly pedantic. My only major problem is the bloated save file and the respawning bug. Hopefully these things will be fixed in 1.6 though and I'll be able to return to Skyrim, only been about a 2 weeks and I'm already getting the shakes.

Yep agree with you. but the thing with citys is first off i wouldnt say that they were that small and second the amount of detail in them is a lot higher than in any previous elder scrolls games.

I'm very happy with Skyrim's looks, I remember being pretty anxious about the initial screenshots we had pre-release, but Beth released high res PC textures to replace the 3year old vanilla ones so it's all good.

Well I absolutely love Skyrim too...but you cant exactly do whatever you want in quest stories. Most of the quests you run across are automatically generated when you enter a certain area and you can't really make choices in these quests. For example, the quest in Whitrerun where you have to rescue that nord dude from Northwatch prison I think its called. If this was optional also, I would personally tell the Thalmor that there is a nord fugitive hiding out in the Graymane's house. Why? Because I support the Thalmor and I dont care about barbaric drunken nords or the weak empire. And also why couldnt I choose to help the Thalmor instead of the blades? If I could I would sell the blades to the Thalmor and help them capturem too. So if choice was really implemented in quests this is how it would go down. I do hope they implement this in dlc however.

Although the quests come to the same conclusion. You can always decide what happens Whilst in the middle of the quest
