Skyrim Bookshelf app for ANDROIDiOS

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 9:17 pm

Hey guys, hey Bethesda!

I was playing some Skyrim this week-end and was totally addicted to it.
Today at the job I was so in need of playing then I GOT A SO GENIOUS IDEA THAT IT GAVE ME THE CREEP!

What about an Android/iOS (optimised for tablets) that would contain all the books that are in Skyrim world (other previous TES titles would be cool too btw loll)

Think about Google Book app for android or the iBook app for iOS

Main menu could be a 3d Bookshelf that contain the Books, clicking on a book will open it (with 3d animation) (real original in-game cover of it)
Then we could make a finger gesture to turn the page (with animation)

This app would be a great companion for Skyrim (and TES in general) fans, I would definitively pay for such a cool app
Reading Books on the TV is sometime pain in the eyes and most of the time we want to play the game not reading books while we're playing.
But in the bus, at lunch time at work/school, in the bed, etc....that would be the perfect time fo some Skyrim reading.

It's not that hard to make, texts are already written, book cover are already drawn, the only thing you have to do is coding the bookshelf and some other programmation....the app is pretty simple so porting it on different platform would not be hard as well.

IF YOU ARE A FAN OF THE ELDER SCROLLS SERIES OR JUST SKYRIM, COMMENT THIS POST TO SHOW THAT YOU AGREE

IF YOU ARE A BETHESDA EMPLOYEE, COMMENT AND SHOW THIS POST TO SOMEONE WHO CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PLEASE :-)

Thanx guys

I would like something like this, actually. I'm sure many people will call it dumb. But I'd like to read all the books at some point, and doing on a computer screen is kinda annoying. It would also be neat if it somehow read what books you've collected/"read" from the save file, and put those in your "library". A guide to find missing books would be helpful too.

This actually isn't too bad of an idea. It would help expand the social aspect of th game a little. I typically stray from single player games because of the lack of true interaction outside of the game. You play the game and that is it. Forums help, and a place to read books that you collect would be great.

If you know some friends that like The Elder Scrolls, don't forget to share this post with them so they can comment and share at their turn as well.

Plan on making this, better make sure Bethesda says okay before they sue you. After all, they frivolously sue people just for using the word "scrolls", they'd sure as hell'd sue you for this.

I never made any mention about I will make this app...

It's more of a suggeation topic to be heard by Bethesta so they see a good point about making this app.

I didn't know if you were or not, was just a friendly warning just in case. No harm intended. It is a good idea for an app, though.

Guys we're pretty much near an app. If you can't wait here's someone who made a free .Epub and .mobi book of all Skyrim books!!! (Can be read by most ebook readers)so now you got the texts extracted from the game, that simplify the process of copy/paste forthe app

Thanks million times! I've been wondering and wandering around to find out if anything like this existed, especially for my Android phone. Now I can spend all my free time at work educating myself with Skyrim's lore (and to actually get myself to read all these books!) B)
