They never said early January.

They did actually.

Creation Kit (PC Only) — Beginning in January, PC players will be able to download the same development tools we used at Bethesda Game Studios to create Skyrim. In tandem with the Creation Kit’s release, we will roll out a new Wiki and videos to help you get started. It also features something we think you’re going to love…

My guess is they have found some deep bugs and are rooting them out. Like they actually hired a QA team or the management quit rubber stamping over them because they are now facing a PR nightmare.

Well technically they said they would release new patches and the creation kit "beginning january", meaning at some point this month. Gstaff clarified that in another thread just today.

I would appreciate it if you people could learn to read so I don't have to see these stupid threads 10 times a day. "Beginning in" is much different than "beginning of". A 5th grader with an average reading level would be able to understand it.

Yeah right, there are obviously working on other games and give 2 [censored]es about Skyrim since the lionshare of the money has been made.

Word.

I secretly doubt we'll get it this month, seriously doesn't matter if it's a little delayed. Won't be the end of the world :)

First, it has nothing to do with reading levels or schooling. "Beginning in January" can legitimately be taken as "Starting off in January". It was also said in other interviews that the CK would be here before mid January. For the last two weeks there has not been a word from Bethesda. People will start to wonder what's going on.

Second, while some people might misconstrue certain parts of the English language it is often because English is not their first language and yet they are capable of at least reading and writing a lot of it, unlike most citizens of your country who can not even read their own tongue properly let alone any foreign tongue.

Third, while it might make you feel better about your pizza face and 200 pounds to be a [censored] on the internet, it pisses people like me off to the point where I really couldn't give a rats ass about your precious feelings or what anyone would say if I told you to [censored] off.

Maybe, but there is still the funny thing called reputation ...

What I have seen on these and other forums, the bad reputation due to the bugs and crashes is spreading really fast.

They can not ignore that for long.

First, no it can't.."Start off in" is not the same as "Start of"...there's a difference.

Secondly, they never said "mid January" in any interviews that I've read...source please?

Third, yes they have commented within the past couple weeks...just the other day as a matter of fact.

The problem isn't with people's reading comprehension but rather that they choose to see things how they want to regardless of the facts.

They stated late in December on Twitter that there would be a news update early in the new year about the CK. Again you can take that anyway you wish but it seems Bethesda is carefully dancing around the issue by choosing phrases that does not really say anything and is set to milk the moment. Either that or their integration with Steam Workshop is not done and won't be for some time. Well, there's a couple of weeks left of January so I guess we'll see.

"First, it has nothing to do with reading levels or schooling. "Beginning in January" can legitimately be taken as "Starting off in January"." No it can't. If I said "Beginning in January I am going to start ignoring useless morons on the Bethesda forum because they fail at English!" it would mean that at ANY time within the month of January I could start.

I can't say that I feel too offended being told to "CENSORED" off. You can say anything you want to me. You can throw insults around and act like an eMacho man. But at the end of it all, you are STILL an annoying person that was too stupid to understand a simple statement and now you are irritating the rest of the people on this forum with your pointless ranting about something that will be coming out soon anyway.

PS: There was no mention of "mid January" and even if there was... it is not mid January yet. You svck on multiple levels. Go grab yourself a cookie.

This happens every time a schedule needs to be fulfilled. When a service/product/fix has been scheduled for November, it means they think they will finish in October but they say a month later just in case. Then as the date approach they found that it wasn't so easy as it looks earlier and decide to release at the end of November. Finally they can't even fulfil it and the release date is two months later. That's how things works and Bethesda isn't different. Well, it shouldn't be. Their obsession with the 11/11/11 release is a horrible exception. They should have taken more time, at least for the PC and PS3 versions.

So, January means February if they try really hard, which could mean that the steam integration part (the first priority) would work OK, while the actual part where the CK let you actually modify the game could not work.

So, let's hope they take the time they need and release the CK on may if they need it, instead of making again a too early release only to fulfil the schedule (something that no other one makes in this world).

The phrase "beginning in January" may be getting construed by some people, perhaps those for whom English is not their first language, to mean the same as "beginning of January." Certainly, there is a lot of impatience fueling these threads, but it should be recognized that the clarity of communication from Bethesda on Skyrim support has not been perfect.

Although I'm sure that was in jest, such an outcome would be my preference. The more time Bethesda takes to work on this patch, the more substantial (and numerous) the fixes will be. Maximizing the content of the patch while still delivering it in January would be the most beneficial outcome, though perhaps not the wisest in terms of PR. There will be plenty of people to complain no matter what.

Whatever dude. You are merely arrogant for the sake of publicity. You're not cool and you're not clever. You're just a sad little emo boy dressed in black.

You know guys, something makes me wonder about how was the game built. It mustn't be hard to create quests, build dungeons and so on once you have a developer's kit. Afterwards you need to keep it simple. Why would the quests glitch if you've entered the area before? The fault is not on programmers, it is on those who built the quests and areas using the tools made by programmers. Which means those people we not bothered and instead of for example setting the quest markers as "picked up the quest, went there, done that" they made the chains unconnected to the quests. They've pretty much connected the events to the specific places instead. That is why we get all the bugs. Because when we enter certain places beforehand the game thinks we've already got the quest. THat is quite sad.

Blaming any member of the development team is pointless. They would have make it better should they have more (enough) time.
