Skyrim CTD, Completely Restricting Most of the Game

Constant Skyrim CTD (Crash To Desktop)


I am currently running Skyrim with the latest patch (1.5.26), I have updated graphics drivers and everything.

Due to constant CTD incidents, I cannot access most of Skyrim. Here is a list of areas that I know cause a CTD upon attempted entry 100% of the time:

Towns
- Markarth
- Morthal
- Dawnstar

Important Town Locations
- The Blue Palace
- Dragonsreach

Houses
- Proudspire Manor

Important Quest Locations
- Fort FellHammer Garrison (Where you get the Helm of Winterhold)

Other Locations

- Most of the open world of Skyrim



This list grows every day. What you see above is only what I know of.

Couple things:

1) Uninstall, as opposed to disabling, any and all mods
2) Please provide a full dxdiag in a spoiler tag

I've confirmed mods aren't the issue here.

Does that mean you've uninstalled any and all mods and third party add-ons or not?

Also, try a new game or an older save from before the mods and test it then.

Ok, you could've said that much better. However, the only thing in there that stands out as weak is the GPU.

Sorry if my last statement sounded harsh, this is forum #5 that I've gone to for help. All four of the previous ones have left me dismissed by egotistical "hardware-elitists" saying things like "Hurr itz cause ur GFX card is poor, thatz why it crash."

i got the same ctd as u before.

1. delete all your old saves. They are corrupted
2. Remove skyrim from the HDD. Complete reinstall
3. Remove all the rest of skyrim e.g. pref.ini/skyrim.ini/leftover mods
4.Clean up your registry(thats what i did at least)
5. Reinstall skyrim and patch to latest version not beta
6. Let skyrim generate new inis after the latest version(u must delete the inis when it first created)
7. Go into vanilla skyrim and wander around. If no CTD, delete that char. and put mods in
8. restart a new char

the reason y this ctd happened for me is because halfway through my gameplay, i patched from 1.4 to 1.5 which made my game go crazy. I assume that several elements in my save conflict with 1.5
