This is the kind of gamer companies are trying to take in nowadays... cheats. Geez.

Even if xbox did have cheats, i wouldn't use them.
How would God mode be fun? If you want to be over powered then just level up?

hmmm.. how about playing the game the right way? Granted, GTA Vice City cheats were fun. Infinite ammo, rolling downtown in a tank. But, this is a totally different game.

I actually find that the use of cheat codes tends to make games less enjoyable in the long run. I'll admit, back when I played Doom, I loved the infinite ammo cheat. But then again, I was playing with a modded full auto shotgun and there simply wasn't enough ammo in the game otherwise. In general, though, cheats make the games too easy and that gets boring fast.

And I get a bit annoyed with people who seem to think that the command console is some sort of PC exclusive cheat tool. It's not. Certainly you can choose to abuse it and use it to cheat, but that's not what it's for. It's a testing and debugging tool.

No. Never. Ever. In a million years should this be added.

Morrowind used to have an xbox cheat where you could regenerate your health, stamina and magica through a combination of the black and white button, as I recall.

It wasn't particularly overpowering - you didn't get more health, just stopped you dying - which was quite useful when you wanted to get your character up to level 7-8 for RP purposes, without dying horribly early on.

But the sort of GTA stuff... not so much. Jump height and the like has been set for a reason...

I use the cheats in a game like GTA IV after I'm finished with the story and just want to fool around. I have the discipline not to use them for the game because it just ruins the experience. But for goofing around it's nice to call up a car or some weapons that I want to play around with. Nothing wrong with that as far as I'm concerned. But I never felt the need for that with Skyrim. I don't know it just doesn't really need it. It's a different kind of game. If I wanted to fool around like that I'd get a PC and play that version.

But they add hours of enjoyment

I don't know about that. At best, I get maybe half an hour of fun (total, not just in a single game session) when (if) I activate cheats.

If you want to cheat, you're only going to be able to do that with the PC version. There's no way Bethesda will enable that kind of functionality on the console versions.

They already have cheats. 100 Smithing, 100 Enchanting, 100 Alchemy. That's pretty much your god mode right there.

Ignoring the very real fact that those are NOT cheats... you still have to build those skills up. What if the OP wants to go TGM right off the chopping block?

Now just like when you use them in GTA 4 it will disable Xbox and PS3 Achievements. I would like the following to be added. Be sure to add what you would like to see.

1. Ability to set Jumping height x2,x3,x4

2. Change Weather (Different weather available)

3. God Mode (Infinite Health, Magicka and Stamina)

4. Ability to set Speed

5. Add flyable dragons mounts

No.

Just...

no.

Max sneak, healing, your weapon and armor skills....you'll be in god-mode.
Put most, if not all, of your level points in stamina and where magical items that increase your health. This game can be easy if you want it to be.
It's already there if you want it.

It is possible to patch in the ability to have cheats like GTA if I'm not wrong, or open console command for that matter but the con's out weigh the pro's. I have tried to test my luck with the game with the " restoration potion loop " and the " Ogham glitch " and there is a point at which using these methods make the game too buggy to play, even though these slower " cheats " give the game engine time to adjust to what you have done.
I'm not saying that you can't have em but to my knowledge they would hurt more then they would add if you catch my drift. And to compound the matter I'm pretty sure it's a bit of a legal matter when it comes down to MS and Sony, they don't want to be held responsible for " you " breaking your game.

I dislike most common cheats but there some that were just made to be funny.. GTA had a lot of these funny cheats..

I would love to see a cheat that makes everybody sound like Chipmunks, including the player!

~Edit~

Basicly, funny and stupid crap that doesn't actually effect de' gameplay.. Too much.

You know, I have never once been tempted to do that.

Nor would I.

Without going into much detail, I came across a site the other day where members could give an Xbox save to an admin, who'd bump up their, for example, smithing level to 100 and then give it back to be uploaded back to Xbox.

This struck me as completely nuts and I can't imagine how anyone would find the game enjoyable doing this type of thing.

And don't get me started on the, in my view, ridiculous ... particularly in a RPG type game ... "achievement" stuff.

Some bizarre stuff going on out there ... just have to visit the MS "why did my live account/console get banned" forum to see that.

Maybe I'm just too old to understand this type of stuff, lol.

I guess some people are just lazy and dont want to work for their deadric weapons and dragon bone armour. This seems like a really pathetic thing to do though.

And what is that supposed to mean, I'm a Xbox player :stare:
Why not offer some intelligent advice instead of looking for a fight. I think I'm safe to assume that many console players know of console command and what it does, it's just the info. that they do have is ill informed, misguided. Cheats are great, I use them myself, but they tend to bug out your game and if miss used can even " break " your game( save file ), instead of poking fun and trolling why not try to enlighten us feeble minded console players?

Well if I took it out of context then I apologize to jpo, it's just that it's getting old when it comes to PC players looking to take a jab at a console player.

@ jpo I do sincerely apologize if I took your comment out of context, but it came off a bit harsh to me, but sorry if it wasn't meant to be.
