Skyrim "DLC" Ideas

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:14 am

I'm thinking that if Bethesda were to add an "Arena" as part of a future DLC there could be lots of dynamic story lines. (e.g. Dovahkiin wakes up as a slave in a gladiator camp as has to buy his/her freedom by fighting in the arena).
Perhaps they could add additional weapons such as "Spear & Flail".

What's your thoughts and ideas?

I have thought of a fantastic idea, its called 'fix the bugs before even starting making DLC'. Great isn't it.

But on topic, I would like to see a vampire guild. With the introduction of new powers, maybe some improvements to the ones you can get already. I would like to be able to increase the time it takes to level up vampirism, 1 day is a bit fast IMO.

Would also be nice to see some throwing axes/knifes, 1h crossbows and some new spells.

You're right the game is full of glitches. One of the main ones is the horse that goes invisible when you're sitting on it. But I'd like to see an arena in the game with warriors and gladiators going town on each other.

I do want the bugs fixed before an expansion is released. In saying that I want there to be a land mass in the Sea of Ghost. It should be a big land mass, with a lot of extra content. Maybe it can involve rebuilding Winterhold.

Bethesda has a better idea. Fix the bugs with the DLC and charge $20 for it.

My game, just today, has decided to add another glitch to the mountain of bugs. Most of the time when I cast a conjuration spell, my character is invisible (not like the spell invisibility, more like laggy invisibility). I play on xbox, I plan to make a new game after patch 1.3 though as I'm hoping some bugs will be fixed.

But a arena to fight in wouldn't really add anything.

Rather have the already mentioned vampire guild or option to join silver hand and hunt werewolves.

I would like a DLC that takes you to either the Imperial City, Bruma and Cloud Ruler Temple or Solsthiem.

Also, I think it would be good if they took the idea of the "Stuff Packs" from the Sims and used them to add stuff to the game which are too small to be added via DLC/Expansion pack. This would include stuff like another Dark Brotherhood stuff - even a visit to the Cheydinhal sanctuary and include new items and spells and quest for the DB. This could also be done for the mages and fighters guild and also to add new, smaller stuff to the game like new creatures or modes of transport.

I agree. I like the idea of additional items but I'm really curious as to why Bethesda didn't use more space for this game in order to improve its graphics or add more content.
The game is something around 3.8 GB and they could have easily used 2-3 extra GB's left on a standard DVD disk for improved graphics and additional content.

Two idea's:
1) A underground Dwemer world, WITH LIVING DWEMER!!( a sort of artificial world, far from our praying eyes)

2) A huge city to discover(as in, the City is the World in the DLC), Trebunal style maybe.

Explore the ruins of Winterhold. would be cool. Maybe a cool area under some Dwemer ruins like Blackdepth but bigger and with multiple quests. I wouldn't mind an arena, a questline for Silverhand and factions like that. Maybe some quests that take place in an Oblivion realm :D

What I dislike the most is that there are only a few cities which you can call a city. (e.g. Riften / Solitude / Windhelm / Markarth) where you enter and it is completely different to Skyrim's atmosphere. Usually the ones which have walls. Perhaps if Bethesda were to add a hidden city which is very ancient to Skyrim and was only told in legends would also be good.

An Arena Tournament , with a Jousting Event, a whole big carnival type of event Nord Style! Champion of the Realm Festival or something.

  • Crossbows
  • New Spells
  • Throwing Knives / Axes
  • Flails and Halberds

  • Extended Questlines for the Dark Brotherhood, Theives Guild, Mages College. (that tie into the Carnival Event)

  • Dark Brotherhood Can have a unique quest chain to assassinate someone from the Event!
  • Theives Guild can have a quest to steal the Festivals Trophy or Loot or Some special Item!
  • The Festival might bring in some type of Magic Show! that ties into a Mages Guild Quest!
  • The Companions could have you go enter the tournament to fight for their Honor and Glory!
  • Silver Hand Quests - Werewolf Hunting. Could do an entire Epic Chain with a New Castle That's owned by a Werewolf Lord, complete with a town of scared citizens and bunchs of side quests.

(Took some of the above mentioned suggestions and placed them into a neat little pack of what I think would make a good expansion)

How about the even better idea of 'make new patches that introduce even more bugs, and the new bugs are worse than the things they were trying to fix' :verymad:

Why? It's a great idea IMO, introduction of 2h and 1h crossbows, both under the archery skill (maybe rename to marksmanship or something). Adds more variety to the combat system.

My wishlist includes:
- Hunters guild: Add legendary named beasts from wolves to even dragons and beyond. New types of dragons and lesser dragons.
- Druid circle: Learn transformations and become one with the wild.
- Combine the two above to craft unique gear by completing hunting and druidic quests to improve related abilities and grant new perks etc.
Ideas for new dungeons:
-Huge vampire related castle with an epic end boss battle. Gear for vampire players. Gear to hide your vampire identity like masks etc. New abilities for vampires could be learned from this dungeon.
- Underground dungeon with new monsters. Maybe Falmer related. Basically endless space for possibilities. Underground map could be added.

I definitely like the idea of "Spears & Flails". Flails specially.

I was also kind of hoping that your character would be able to ride his dragon.

make animals be able to "smell" you thru in the wind (when it blow from you toward the animal).... and make it possible be able to stealth up closer to animals, when the wind is right (the oppist direction of wind)

if DLC is to animate to restart the game from the beginning, then like make it even a bit more "realistic" (and a bit more difficult), like animlas can pick up your trail from far away, if the wind blows right... (and can keep on you're tracks longer too)

the game as such beautiful wind effect, it should be used even more (or can animals detect one thru the wind??)

may be make it visible, when an animal picks up the sent (like make it snif 2-3 times very obviously in the air, in the direction of the sent...)
___

speers, long axt, halbards ect. would be cool
___

make (noble) vampirs or werewolves (leaders) playable from the start, just change them a bit; so vampirs can go among humans with out them knwoing it.., except may be High or Dark Elves, who can detect vampirs fastter, while Khajiit & Argonian can detect werewolfs; just so it's more playable then like the vampir sickness in the game

vampirs and werewolves can of course have special abilities and some modified talents

I was thinking perhaps if Bethesda were to make a DLC called (e.g. The Elder Scrolls V: Hammerfell/Black Marsh) this wouldn't only be an add-on content but also a completely new game where you can link both Skyrim & Hammerfell or whatever city chosen and maybe have a war between the two. Kind of improvise from that.

How does that sound?
