Skyrim Is A Good Simple Game but that is all.....

Post » Tue Jul 03, 2012 11:55 am

Bethesda I can deal with bugs big deal, glitches and other problems. Don't care about a guard saying I have fur growing out of my ears when I am not a warewolf. Nice graphics, you can play like you did in Oblvion but now we have a disagreement. I played Oblivion and still do. I miss the Attributes and the old system that was in Oblivion that is missing in Skyrim. Now it is like playing Fallout Las Vegas. I don't want to play Fallout Las Vegas I want to play Skyrim. Now we have these silly perks and now we are capped at level 81. Now we only have magicka, health and stamina. Please I hope you will not do this again but there is hope I think in our modding community that we can replace this stinky perk system with something that will remind me of the best RPG games ever Oblivion and Morrowind.

Fallout New Vegas* and on behalf of Bethesda I deeply apologise for their attempts at trying to improve gameplay, it must have been such a hindrance for you.

New Vegas :whisper: And it still had attributes, and wasn't made by Bethesda, and was more of an RPG than Oblivion ;)

I miss the attributes and classes too, but I really don't think the perk system is as terrible as some people make it out to be. It was a good idea by Bethesda, but just not to everyone's liking (myself included).

No one calls my Skyrim stinky! :swear:

I do kind of miss attributes though. Not enough to notice. Also I wish I could label myself a custom class for pure RP purposes.

1. Then why is it on Bethesda page?
2. But not exactly like Oblivion it was simular but not the same.

yes i do miss the attributes but if you think NV is dumbed down then i cant say what i think as it will get me in trouble. skyrim is the super dumbed down version of NV, NV had attributes, lore integration, stat integration (lots of things to be done with skills instead of them being virtually worthless like in skyrim) and decent writting (good writting even)

1. Then why is it on Bethesda page?

Because it was published by Bethesda Softworks, just like id's RAGE for example. Not to be mixed with Bethesda Game Studios that develops games.

1. Because Bethesda now owns the 'Fallout' intellectual property and licensed it to Obsidian to make New Vegas.

2. New Vegas > Oblivion

Best RPG ever.

I think it was a brave initiative. They're trying something completely different for them and some of it works and some of it doesn't. I think in the next TES game we'll see it revamped and working even better, much like we've seen in past TES games.

My point DUMBING DOWN! Oh we need it to be easy. I want a challenge not easy. I even don't like Diablo III that is crap as well. Fallout is a good game and so is Skyrim but sorry they are not true RPG games they look like cut and slash.

Yeah but you said you don't want to play Fallout Las Vegas (lol) and implied that it is dumbed down, when in actual fact it's far more complex than Skyrim...

Fallout & Skyrim are true RPG's. They also have elements of First Person Shooters & Adventure games mixed in too. Also Stealth games and loads of other stuff.

A good example of a "cut 'n' slash" game would be Devil May Cry.

Play until all attributes and skills are 100, and all characters are the same, or a limit on perks, so all end game characters can be different. I can see the simplification, but not the dumbing down if there are now choices to be made.

I played Oblivion and was expecting the same system in Skyrim. That is all that I am saying. Not this simple use something, level up, pick three attributes, one perk simple stuff. Fallout is simular to Oblivion in some aspects but not like Oblivion. I don't like simple in my RPG! Don't get me wrong i love other aspects of Skyrim but don't like the leveling system. I love old Oblivion system better.

Well that's fine. Just don't drag New Vegas into this then.

I'm going to give you a different perspective. Skyrim was my first Bethesda game. I got Fallout New Vegas 2 months ago hoping to get similar experience. But I'm so used to Skyrim, I have hard time adjusting to New Vegas. So I'm back to playing more Skyrim.

Weird, eh?

Vanilla levelling in OB was bizarre; becoming relatively weaker the more you levelled up with a preset class, or needing to make a custom class with majors you didn't use to stay ahead of the curve of the universal world scaling.

You've been playing TES since Morrowind but you wanted Skyrim to be more like New Vegas?

I haven't heard that one before. Interesting.

You brought it up in the OP

In an attempt to use it as some kind of antithesis of Oblivion.

Does anyone else get the impression the OP'er is a bit... y'know.

No he says he doesn't want it to be like New Vegas. This thread is becoming a cluster****

In other words I wanted a balanced changes not just completely eliminate what was in Oblivion. Yes they can change stuff but what they did this time was insane. I played all of the games mentioned here but yet it just does not even remotely the same experience I had on Oblivion compared to Skyrim for the mechanics of the game. Next time note to self don't post when you are pissed.

Pick a skill that is not 100. Then use that skill over and over again. Then you will level up. I am level 65 and I will reach the cap!
