Skyrim's lack of Nordic Barbarian-ess.

I miss Solstheims un-civilized Nords with their Mead Halls, and Pelts hanging everywhere, their rustic wooden villages... It's all imperialistic now. Just toshing it out there.

Skyrim may be a bit more civilized than Solstheim, but come on...it's not New York.

There are still mead halls (Jorrvask, maybe?), and pelts being used everywhere.

Skyrim was more uncivilized when they weren't part of the empire. Joining the empire gave them technology in some way to have better cites. But many nord's still have Barbaric nature. To sum it up it's like, dressing a dog in clothes looks nice and smart, but it wants to be killing. Nord's in a nutshell. Still there my favourite race by far, played a nord in oblivion and playing nord in skyrim.

205ish years passes between Morrowind and Skyrim. Plenty of time for the Empire to spread their McDonalds and 7-11 cultural imperialism Nords to become a bit less barbaric.

I agree. It sounds weird, but I dont think that Skyrim had that true Viking/norse feeling.

I think Beth did an amazing job with the Nordic culture in Skyrim.

It's Nordic 100%. But not as barbaric uncivilized as some people wanted. But I think they did a ace job.
