Skyrim Launcher has stopped working...

Post » Sun Jul 22, 2012 9:29 pm

If someone could help me figure this out, I would be much obliged... I bought TESV yesterday and put it and Steam on my computer, and everything seemed to have installed just fine. But when I tried to launch the game through Steam, the Windows error screen would pop up saying "Skyrim Launcher has stopped working." I tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling through Steam. I tried verifying my game cache. I tried defragmenting the thing. I tried deleting skyrimlauncher.exe and tesv.exe and reinstalling through verifying my game cache. I tried launching directly from tesv.ese, which I heard is supposed to bypass Skyrim Launcher completely, but I got the same message. I've tried running skyrimlauncher.exe and tesv.exe as an administrator. I've tried downloading d3dx9_43.dll. Nothing works and I am highly distressed. I tell windows to check for a solution and it gives me that loading screen to make it look like it's attempting to help me, but then it just disppears and takes another chunk of my soul with it...

The problem details are as follows, if that's helpful...
