Regardless of your opinion on the game, I think we can all come together and congratulate Bethesda on their resounding success!

That is a nice achievement. I'm pretty surprised that Mw3 or BF3 didn't have that one in the bag.

It's because those series practically have a new game every year. COD is the shooter equivalent of Madden, and Battlefield just updates it's graphics and physics every new iteration.

We don't get a new Elder Scrolls game every year with updated NPC rosters.

Sigh.
Wouldn't it be nice to know exactly how things are stacking up in sales....?

Well that's common knowledge, doesn't really have anything to do with sales figures though. MW3 shifted 9 mlliion in it's first day, but this new info about Skyrim really shows how very few of those sales were over Steam. That part surprises me.

COD churns out every year. Console gamers are fine with that(just look at those sports series) but I doubt many PC gamers will buy it every year.

As for BF3, you can't even buy it on Steam. You can only buy it on Origin.

But still, Skyrim is selling pretty well. I hope Bethesda will put more effort into the PC version in the expansions or the sequels. Obviously PC gamers are far more than the 10% Todd claimed. And each PC copy sold brings far more profit than a console copy(PC don't need to pay royalties to Microsoft or Sony. And publishers can get back around 70% for digital sale while only 30% or less for retail copies.)

Same in the local Blockbuster. Shooters to be had, Skyrim sold out. Note for Battlefield 4 : remember Bad Company and BC2 had single player campaigns that were worth doing? Just a thought.

I hope Bethesda gets the message that PC gamers are a huge audience for them.

I think even bigger news is that the "fastest selling title in Steam's history" ISN'T a Call of Duty title.

How I am glad to see this day.

They won't because Todd has stated that he prefers the xbox multiple times. This is most likely why we can't even get a UI that works properly.

Developers say that so they have an excuse to stick to old engines and technologies.

MW3 and BF3 can't become fastest selling Steam games because they are not available on Steam. Surprise!

Yes, random blog entries by hack journalists and posts by random people on an open forum make up for great arguments.

More people are pc gaming than they were 10 years ago. It's just that videogames are doing so well by comparison that PC gaming appears like it's dying, this is faulty logic.
