Skyrim pairs well with ...

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 8:42 pm

The other night I was playing Skyrim on my Xbox 360 big screen set up in the living room. My wife was next to me watching Spartacus on her iPad.

She kept alternately laughing and cringing at the ludicrous circus of blood that is Spartacus.
"You should watch this, this is crazy!"
"Honey, I am PLAYING Spartacus. Check THIS out!"

And I proceeded to decapitate a guy...

"I don't think you should watch this being how phobic you are about knives."
"with my mace!"

Let me repeat that. I decapitated a guy with MY MACE!

True story. This got me to thinking, what other things, do you like to pair up whilst playing Skyrim?

examples, manfully eating a rotisserie chicken with one hand, drinking mead from a mammoth's tusk...

It's odd that you should say that because the first thing I thought about while watcing Spartacus was Skyrim.

One time I made a Middle-Earth type meal while playing Skyrim.

Fried eggs, sausage, bacon, half a tomato, bread, potatoes, wedge of cheese, graqes.

With juice and milk.

I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow then.

Actually, I bought a bottle of Camelot Mead and drank the whole thing while playing Skyrim last night.

Turns out that mead is a lot stronger than beer.

Lately I have been cooking steak and baked potatoes in the woodstove. Just wrap in foil and toss on the coals. I know, I know the roleplaying purists are going to tell me that they didn't have foil in Skyrim days . . .

Damn, I'am hungry now.

I have a few bottles of Hobgoblin, but not too many or I'll feel like death the next day.

The Fiancée hates it when I happen to be in a tavern in game, and in reality I am sat there with a pint of bitter and I say to her "Lovely pint of ale" or something similar while consuming some Ale or Mead in game lol, but she has got to the point where she hates Skyrim anyway :(

I curse the wench to Sovngarde.

Are we talking about the Spartacus series or some movie? Because the series were really friggin awesome. Probably historically inaccurate bullsh*t but who cares because there was blood, sweat, six and sand all over the place. Anyways, this gave me an idea. I'm going to make a Breton in Skyrim now, name him Spartacus, set the special moves and decapitation chances to 100 then start murdering everything in sight with just some rags on. Of course, when I defeat someone I'll get to loot their bodies and take the equipment. Gotta grab some ridicolous, over the top blood effects mod first though.

What goes hand-in-hand with Skyrim? Braveheart's main theme music of course. *manly tears*

Real-life alchemy kills my co-ordination and judgement.

There's nothing worse than logging into the game, going to take that set of Blade's Armour off the manequin, and asking yourself, "When did I enchant this?"

"And why did I put Waterbreathing and Muffle enchant over everything?"
