Skyrim Be Praised!

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 11:12 pm

Ya know, I find it kind of sad that there are so many topics bashing this game for it's shortcomings, but how 'bout we have a thread that actually talks about where it has succeeded?

The fighting system has been greatly changed to support dual wielding weapons and the animations and special kills look great!
The world itself is gorgeous, looks excellent vanilla.
Water that isn't static is always a plus.

C'mon people!

Crap, the haters are gonna take this thread over, but whatever.

I loved the Dark Brotherhood Story Line, especially how the important guy you kill reacts to his death.

Apparently people would rather bash this game than say anything good about it, such is life...

The little details that count make a huge difference to me. My girlfriend plays the game and she's like "Look! Dragons, look I'm on it's head!" mean while i'm like "OMG I CAN CATCH BUTTERFLIES!!"

It's things like this that make the game so much better, being able to catch bugs/fish, being able to take a torch off the wall if it's too dark to see. Being able to kill a witness to your crime and escape, or convincing a guard he's too lazy to arrest me. Seeing samom jumping upstream and the fact that Bunnies are categorised as "bunnies slaughtered", seperate from animals killed. Which amused me.

Then theres the revamped crafting system, ability to see your character tinkering away, bards, Khajiit/Argonian/Orc overhauls. Lots really, when you think about it

When I saw the title I though this would be a thread about Eurland Grey-Manes line when you ask what he has for sale.

I think a lot of people are sore over the removal of spell making, but it didn't really bother me. Yes it was suber kewl, but it was also OP.
Enchanting and smithing (although still exploitable) are incredibly satisfying to level, and wielding a weapon you've made and enchanted on your own is its own reward.
The models of most characters look infinitely better than Oblivion's. Especially Orcs, Dunmer, Argonians, and Khajit. My khajit's awesomeness from oblivion pales in comparison to the one I have in Skyrim.
Skyrim is truly a work of art. Combining so much content into such a neat little package. Skyrim is the type of game that will always be fun to come back to. I can definitely imagine myself picking the game up again years down the road.

The game does have it's shortcomings. But I love it.. Over 200 hours played over 3 characters and I still find new stuff. This coming from a ps3 gamer too

Smashing off someone's head with a warhammer after doing a ninja roll up to them is preposterous, but it NEVER GETS OLD.

Too late, I'm already here. That said; while the game certainly didn't exceed or meet my expectations gameplay wise, I am inclined to agree with the points stated in the OP. With the exception of the snow paint texture, which looks terrible.

I always hear that as 'Goths be praised'. Never took him for a Bauhaus fan.

Actually, there are nearly equal positive/negative threads, it's just that threads that are positive have a much shorter lifespan.
Not to mention they contain far more negativety against Morrowind fans and people who want to offer constructive criticism
than negative threads have about the game.
Anyhow, I enjoyed the Theives Guild questline.
Finally the Theives are actually criminals and not "Holier than Thou" types.

Well it isn't Morrowind! ha ha. had to be said.
Really, this game is awesome. I get overwhelmed sometimes with the amount of quests I have to do. I really agree with some random guy somewhere saying he was afraid to talk to anyone because he would get a new quest. He was right!
I have a huge quest log. One day I will do them all.
Great game.
