Skyrim on PSP Vita

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 9:43 am

I am not asking Bethesda to stop working on the console and PC versions of the game and make a port to PSP Vita. (I don't think devs were even given the development tools yet?)

What I am suggesting is that once Skyrim has been released and things calm down, they should definitely port it to the Vita.

-The Vita has a duel core processor, and the handheld display would allow Bethesda to shrink down texture sizes without sacrificing graphics.
-Memory won't be a problem, considering the Vito will only download games. No need to cram on a disc.
-Intuitive and console like controls will allow for smooth game-play on a handheld, with added functionality.
-Grand Theft Auto was ported to the original PSP. This proves that current gen console games CAN be ported to next gen handhelds.
-The PSP Vita's console like online integration allows for patches to be released, and DLC to be acquired.

This would be a full on port, not a "hand-held" elder scrolls.

The Vita's hardware is definitely capable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb00UkJNas8

Update: I just found out Todd is very interested in the Vita, so we could be expecting something in 1-2 years. At this point, i'm guessing a remastered Oblivion for PSP Vita would be highly probable.

Skyrim 2 Go! That would just be epic to play Skyrim at somewhere decides my desktop - like on Vacation. It would probably even get my to buy a PS Vita (I'm hesitant to buy the PS Vita since I never use my original PSP).

Todd seemed impressed with it during the little conversation with the Minecraft dude, I think it was the better console of E3 than Wii U imo

Wii U has specs almost the same as the 360, which was released in 2005. Why does Nintendo always have to be a generation behind? You can have good specs and still be "family friendly"

The real question is:

Is £££ €€€ $$$ viable to BS & MediMax to make this ?

Said that, I really like this new Vita (and its gameplay), but I will not buy one.

but it would been awesome if you culd do that thing that Ruin showd at http://e3.gamespot.com/press-conference/sony-e3/?tag=content_nav%3Bvideo%3Bsony (1:21:00-1:23:00) and could continue on the ps3 when you are home. kinda like the wii u.

It would probably look and run better on Vita than what it does in the consoles. I don't see why not.
