Skyrim in 3D (questions about)

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:21 pm

Hello, guru of Skyrim!

Any ideas how Skyrim looks in 3D-monitor?

1. Is Skyrim support 3D-mode?
2. How slower Skyrim in 3D mode? (nVidia and interlaced cases interested).
3. Is Skyrim's world placed behind monitor surface? Is there any objects placed visually in front of the monitor surface?
4. Is tittles in 3D mode placed in zero parallax? (visually on the screen surface).
5. Any opinions of users with polarised glasses and interlaced mode interested very much.
6. What about crosshair? Where it placed?
7. Expirience of 3D-archers interested too!
8. Is your eyes still alive after playing about 2 hours in nVidia mode?
9. Is your eyes still alive after playing about 2 hours in interlaced polarised mode?
10. Did you see horisontal black lines while playing in interlaced polarised mode?

Thanks a lot!

The game does not support 3D natively. Any effects come from third party mechanisms.

As for the rest of your questions, I will defer to people who have tried this.

1. Yeah, it looks pretty good too. A few minor issues but there are mods to address them.
2. It roughly doubles the load on your GPU, but doesn't do much to your CPU load - you'll get about 60% to 70% the framerate that you get without 3D.
3. The perk/skills menu is the only thing I've seen pop out, and that's only if you have your depth and convergence settings just right
4. The whole UI is 2D (screen depth)
5. shutter glasses only here
6. crosshair is screen depth, but you can use nVidia's
7. I got by fine just using the screen depth crosshair, and putting my targets midway between the two apparent crosshairs
8. It doesn't bother me, but then I don't get carsick either
9. dunno
10. dunno

Edit - I posted a question related to #2 a while back on the nVidia 3D Vision forums, and got at least http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=219648, if you're interested.

I want the use of my left eye back! Having it filled with silicone creates neat visual effects, but it's rubbish for seeing anything, especially 3D.

Do you get any gameplay advantage from 3D?

I would say the same as

9. dunno
10. dunno

in White run Looking @ the tree i Get 44FPS in 2D / 27 FPS in 3D Still playable
i only realy play in 2D when Re-Chargeing the Glasses
Point 8. when you first get the 3D kit your eyes will hurt a bit after a few Hours of play. But after a few weeks you eyes get used to the 3D & you can play allday & not have any problems apart from hunger lol
