Skyrim Savegame about 100MB

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 5:25 am

Dang, that sux. I really loved skyrim, but right now, i hate it.

my save games are around 100-130MB and the game lags every 20 seconds for about 2-3 seconds...

it seems that the game is saving. i deactivated every autosaving...

is there a solution for a save game which is 130mb ? i don't wanna start from scratch.

played lots of time...im lvl 38.

ive installed lots of mods. and i think this is the point. too many mods they screw your game !

Mine are 11Mb after about 185 hours on the PS3. I was under the belief that Patch 1.5 fixed this, but either it doesn't, or I'm supposed to do something I haven't. Luckily I don't get any distracting lag, just the very rare pause for half a second or so.

Not really. Mods that adds ALOT of NPCs will increase file size, this is normal. Unless there is a script running that is bloating the save.

Use either Maritgens De-bloatifier, or Possessive Corpses.

doesnt helps here dewd!

skyrim is officialy moddable! but, if you do it, maybe take a wrong mod, it screws up......

right now i started a new game. with a few mods. UI Mod of course. but i don't blow it up anymore with cool mods which are disturbing the save games.

question still open: what can i do for my old save games to clean up ? .......

What the hell? 100 MB? I almost wanna say "pics or it didn't happen!" ;)

Just kidding. 100 MB does sound suspciously high, though. I would guess it has something to do with one of the mods you've installed, but I don't know enough about mods to know. Maybe you can post what mods you've got, some PC expert might be able to help you.

Big save file size. Is Skyrim covered with weapons on the ground and with nirnroot so bright, that they make dragons go blind and crash?

Try the unofficial patch if you don't already have it.

we saw saves this size on ps3 forums usually because of grinding skills (especially destruction on farkas)

I love it when people answer their own questions.

Large game saves on the PS3 came about mostly from people having large inventories, namely multiple copies of keys, as in hundreds of them. There were other reasons, but this one applies to you. Your inventory containing thousands of items is the main culprit and I am not surprised that you have lag, especially when accessing your inventory.

They will also occur on the PC due to the disarm/dropped weapon/arrows bug. They aren't properly cleaned up by the game and bloat the file.

Use either Maritgens De-bloatifier, or Possessive Corpses.
What each of these mods do has been included in the USKP. So you'll get the benefit of that and a few other debloating options, like for ice piles and certain types of ash piles that Bethesda's patches have NOT addressed yet.

100MB is pretty bad though. That sounds like a runaway mod abusing the hell out of PlaceAtMe().

I put my excess inventory into chests, dressers, cabinets in my home. Does that keep my save file size down?

What the OP has divulged about their playing habits reads like a "don't do this" list. I was going to ask how many hours on this 100+mb save, but I see that there's no reason. There may be a couple of things left you could do to make the game even more unstable, but I'll be buggered if I can think of any.
