Skyrim Stretched Techtures

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 8:16 pm

Hello all. I'm sorry if this is a repost but I'm new and I've been searching for the past two days for a solution to a problem I have having in Skyrim. Thus far nothing I have tried has fixed it. First, The issue at hand, then my specs, and finally what I have done thus far.
The problem I am having is that in the main world of skyrim the techtures of the plants, trees, and rocks are being stretched to huge proportions and blocking my view. I can walk through these so it doesn't impede my path but it makes navigation a pain. This only occurs in main world part of skyrim. When I go into a town or dungeon they are not around....And I've just found out I can't post a screen shot for some reason.

Next my specs:

System Model: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Intel Cor i5 CPU 2.53 GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Direct X Version: DirectX 11

Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
Approx. Total Memory: 3727
Current Display Mode 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)

What I have tried thus far:
Ok, so far I have uninstalled and reinstalled Skyrim, updated Direct X, updated my drivers, and changed my resolution, quality, AA, and AF settings. None of that has seemed to help. Any help that can be provided would be a huge aid. Thank you all in advanced. I think I have given everything but if there is anything someone who is willing to help needs please let me know and I will get that out ASAP.

Additional note. I just turned grass fade to zero and that got rid of some of the texture stretches. Trees and rocks are still all over the place though.

Found this on another site.

"O.K. I may have a solid answer for some of you on this issue. I ran the game without this issue since Nov 11 then on Dec 10 all of a sudden I have it. Here is what happened. I downloaded and installed the new Catalyst Control Center (ccc) 11.1. So..... I knew the problem stemed from this. What i found after nearly 24 hours of screwing around with ccc and game settings was that I reset ccc to factory settings then reset game graphic setting back to were i was running them post all the problems and my isssue was fixed. Also i stopped ccc from running in system tray while i play Skyrim.

I really hope this helps some of you. If you are running Nvidia cards try there equvilant to ccc."

Thank you for the fast reply. I found that thread and tried a few of their suggestions, including the one suggested above. So far I'm still having the problem.
