Skyrim Theme Remix - Elder Scrolls Theme Orchestra

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 4:05 pm

I absolutely love the Elder Scrolls theme music, it is a shame it's not more prevalent in Skyrim. Very nicely done!

Same here. Thats why i made this remix =)
Im glad you enjoyed it

Trace/dance remix. Music I don't mind in it, but the video is cool.

Yeah, does look cool, if you're on PC try it out via set timescale (check out Google for more info).
Also probably uses a free cam for those angles. Least I think that's how it was done!

Haven't tried it myself yet, might have a play around later in the week.

I think (on the PC), haven't tried it myself.

Try:
1 - Open up the console (~)
2 - set timescale X
3 - fov y

Where:
x
Is the timescale. X by default is 20. Lower values indicate realtime, higher values make time go quicker. I've read setting timescale to realtime (1) can screw the game up (ie. fast travel, opening inventory). Try setting to a higher value to see what happens. Probably try this in a safe area where people can't kill you.

y
Is the angle. Default is 65. Try something like 80 for wider angle. Would be the same as sticking a wide angle lens on an SLR. Not great for everything, but certain shots beg for it.

Then all you need is software to record the output.

Source of info:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console

NOTES:
- I haven't tried any of the above - may or may not work!
- Do this on a backup/copy of a save game. I'm not sure how these settings may affect your save game data or how they are remembered.

EDIT:
Did try this last night, the timescale does work, but only really apparent at high values (like 1000 or 2000). Not verything shifts with the scale - like your walking and other peoples walking doesn't change speed. So the people who made the timelapse videos, they probably also did some post processing to get that effect (which is to big to explain here). Some of those shots I'm pretty sure are done via free cam (via console command tfc), which would probably get around that issue of having the cam rotate around the player.

Great video. I'll agree on the music, though.

Each note of the theme seems to fade in, giving the music a waah waah waaaaaaaaaah waah waah waaaaaaaaaah effect. The mix might work better without the effect, but it's nice anyway.

hey dinrauko, thanks for listening. What do you think the pronounciation of the dynamics of the notes SHOULD sound like ?

more like waaaaaaaah ?

do you have any plans to release this as an .xml so it can be used as a track in-game? that would be pretty neat, just sayin'

Is this really a remix? It's more like a re-arrangement if you ask me. I mean, you don't use any of the original material right?

Sounds really good though!

This is part remix, part rearrangment and part self composed. Its meant to be seen more of an expansion rather than a copy. I do use some of the original material :
The first few seconds uses the intro harmonies of the original and then plays the official elder scrolls melody that debuted in Morrowind but is also used in the original skyrim theme.

Everything else is self composed that includes the backing harmonies, drums, bridge and other melodies featured in the music.

This is pretty great, nice job!

Thanks i had a great time making this.

That would be a pretty neat idea. If there's demand for this then I will post an enhanced version that can be used in game soon.

Releasing it as a main-menu replacer would be appropriate, I think. I would definitely download it and put it into the game where I wanted so I could listen while playing, it's beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome. Thank you for the music. I like the video too. The composition might sound better to me were the notes of the melody mostly steady waaahs. Then again, maybe steady waaahs would spoil it. You're the best one for knowing how the notes should sound.

Well i did it the way that sounded best to me, i guess steady waaaaahs all the time would spoil it since it wouldnt sound realistic either.
The best thing would be a dynamic changing between steady, fast and slow depending on the note that played.

Unfortunatly it's incredibly hard to control virtual instruments and make them sound just like the real thing. I've been learning and improving since 10 years and i will continue learning untill i've mastered it.

So would anyone happen to know how to do this ? A quick search on google revealed nothing. I guess it requires the creation kit and converting the music file to another format.

This is nice, but, i can't help but feel it's a little too.... Fast paced, it's also more suiting for Morrowind then Skyrim.
