Hi

Did anyone else find that Steam has just done a 16mb or so update to Skyrim so that the version number is now 1.4.27.04...?

Until SKSE is updated to be compatible it will not launch the game, using that method.

EDIT: It is the the third beta patch, this one fixing...

Followers now sneak properly when player is sneaking.

You only get these updates if you opt into the Beta Patch program.

And, yes, you have to get updates to your mods or not use them when using the beta patch. IN fact, you should not be using any mods with a beta patch as you are not testing the patch and it's intended purpose, which is to address issues in the base game.

Bethesda makes no guarantees that their patches will ever work with an existing mod. They only concern themselves with patching the base game. It up to the mod users to deal with any issues that a patch causes to the mods they are using. Which is how it should be.
