Skyrim feels like a very very pretty bowl. Its mesmerizing and you look inside and see what you think to be gorgeous fruit. You take one out and bite into it and at first its wonderful....but a tad bitter. You wonder what could be making it bitter and when you look at the fruit you notice its nearly black inside. You look through the bowl at the other fruits, very similar. You look at the inside of the bowl and find tiny dents and a thin coating of slime. You place the fruit back and walk away, wondering if your going to throw up, but then you look back and see the bowl and forget you had ever seen it before. You walk up and take the fruit......

This was sort of my experience with Skyrim. It's pretty, but has some very serious flaws for a be who you want to be game. Some of the characters can get...marginally deep like a dent, but never like a character I would cry over if i lost them. I would find to many reasons not to like it and put it down but come back later and find new things to love about the game....but eventually that would wear...and the process would repeat. Its interesting.

Very interesting perspective. I am myself dissapointed with some areas of this game development but I always find myself forgiving and coming back with renewed hope or motivation. I simply want to love this game more than it probably deserves by its own merits and somehow I manage to do so.

Sometimes :) I was very hyped about skyrim like alot of people and got my hopes to high for what it was. I love skyrim, but i feel like it is a huge wasted potential, its hard to watch art flounder. Never be ashamed of true tears, Every man could benefit from this.

Well we are probably approaching the game from different directions, because the way I see it is will I ever fullfil Skyrim's potential and do all the things I want to do

I get that, I suppose we are. Yeah, I loved creating different characters to do different things in oblivion...like my warrior would never go near the mages guild, ect. for example. In skyrim it feels like I sort of need to do all the quests or I'm not going to have a lot to do. That being said my most recent character has yet to join a guild and is a little over 20 hours in.

Don't get me wrong ^^ I still love skyrim like a child. I just feel like it could have had alot more done with it and it wasnt for w/e reason. It's hard to see a game where gaps could have very obviouslly been filled and thus that much better imo.

me to :D I can't wait to hear about skyrim dlc....i can wait to hear the thirty dollar price tag XD but if its big like they were saying its going to be it will probably be worth it, especially if it turns into a shivering isle esque thing. ^^ I do hope the have spears though <.<; the loss of spear technology is bizzare at the most understanding read....ridiculous if you think about it to long. Deeper quests and better characters though, perhaps a very fantastical area to offset the earth feel of skyrim would be nice....anyways....getting off topic.

As someone who've been playing the Elder Scrolls series since Daggerfall in '96... I've seen this cycle repeat over and over again. Wait a couple of years and Skyrim will have insanely good mods, become almost bug-free thanks to the unofficial patch and have some great pieces of DLC. Then the Elder Scrolls VI: AkaVIr will be released and people will complete that the new game, while pretty, lacks depth compared to Skyrim :P

Free stuff....well....there were killcams and new water effects....but honestly.....coming from todd....I wont be holding my breath for any free stuff that actually takes alot of work. Spears would be a pretty big undertaking, all new mechanics, balancing, animation, the works. They will surely be buggy as hell to when they first, if ever, come out. So if spears come in i'm sure it will be in a dlc. I can see it now: "GUESS WHAT, there was this civilization at this far off place that tried putting a rock on a stick and worked up from there and suddenly they remembered how to make spears. have fun!" *game crashes when you equip a spear*

I'm still wondering why they took them all out. I know spear animation was terrible but still. Crossbows too? Throwing weapons? Why did they get rid of short swords? You wouldnt even have to change animation for that! I dont know. Beth really wanted to hit that deadline I guess. The reasoning behind the dissapearence of these weapons in lore is really stupid to. Apparently stuff like that just up and dissapears sometimes and no one remembers how to do it, apparently Tamriel really lacks innovation. One of the emperors outlawed spears or something a billion years ago. But that is ridiculous. Silly stuff really

Whats more disturbing is that beth knows we hate when they take away weapons. They know we want them back. I MEAN DANG, ARE SPEARS IN THE GAME WAS THE NUMBER 1 QUESTION. Or maybe number 2, idr if werewolves were ahead. But w/e, doesnt matter. Its stupid XD lol

As a true Argonian, powered by the HistTM, I hereby deplore the brutal act of erasing spears, our beloved body and soul extension, from the collective memory of the northern lands. Should your games visit Black Marsh, this shall be avenged! :swear:

Yeah, I always saw argonians as using spears mostly ^^ especially because of books and such. Khajiit too. So idk, its stupid that they arent in the game.

No, there is no lore reasoning behind missing weapons.
Its simply never mentioned anywhere.
In fact, Im pretty sure that all these weapons still exist in Tamriel, the game just doesnt have them.

Please do, because as far as I know there isnt.
There was a levitation act, but that was made by an Empire that no longer exists, while people like Telvanni or rogue wizards would never have obeyed that edict in the first place.

This is just another thread about how Skyrim is not 100% perfect in your opinion. Get over it, no game is or ever will be a completely flawless game and incorporate every imaginable thing for every possible taste. I find it funny that so many of these threads are by people who were initially thrilled with the game and only later started saying "Well, if we only had this then the game would be perfect". Skyrim has it's flaws like any other game but overall I think it is one of the best games ever made. Playing on pc only enhances the experience since there are so many mods for exactly the extra content that people are complaining they want. I have been playing since release and am now using 200+ mods. My game is exactly the way that I want it to be to fit my expectations. To ask for a game to be perfect in every respect is just ludicrous.
