Slaughter a guard, Steal his armour - not be arrested

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:53 am

Is this possible? At all? I am a mage but in my role play I need to slaughter a guard for some reason I haven't decided yet, and ware his armour into town and blend in with the other guards, any thoughts?

Oh and I cannot be caught, arrested or have (much of ) a bounty....

ideas?

Sneak kill with no witnesses. Nearly impossible for pure mages, unless you got someone else to do the deed for you.

Wait so you just want the armor? Which city, as certain cities would be easier than others. Also if your a werewolf you could just change outside of view, maul him and come back later to retrieve it. If your not then you could always lure strong enemies towards a guard. I know that some locations have dead guards present but i'm not sure which you need. If it happens to be riften shors watch tower near shors rock has some dead guards.

Lead any tough enemies near a guard and they should end up killing the guard for you.

Try a Frezy spell on a guard, that just makes him hostile to other NPCs.

I was thinking of using my fireball spell from a far.......like out of his view, but just so that I could still see where he would be standing.....

Solitude is the location. I may have to change my RP >_>. I wanted to be a city guard who kills people...innocent people....with no one knowing - like dexter.....

You can easily get a full suit of Whiterun guard armor during the first dragonkilling quest.

Ya but I sold that.... and that doesnt fit into my rp

I haven't really flushed out my story, But as a mage I grow tired of chasing magic staves for the council (college), and there are people in solitude who need to die - because.........(fill in blanks)...to do this I have devised a plan to kill a guard, take his post and kill people, not just any one but specifics, who? (I dont know...fill in more blanks). This will increase my armour and sword - because then I will leave the guards and strike out to slay the vampires in this new DLC....

there's lots of wholes left to be filled....

your help in me beginning with this is much appreciated

Someone mentioned a frenzy spell which is a good idea as long as you can stay hidden. I believe a destruction spell will give you away. Also since it's solitude an imperial uniform would also fit your rp, most of the guards in the fort are legion, and is pretty easy to get.

Solution to obtaining the Armor is to simply pickpocket it off of a guard. (All of the women in Solitude are in their undies in my game) As for killing without detection as a mage, I would follow the victim until they're alone, use paralyze and then lightning maybe. Kinda hard to kill with magic and not be seen.

Don't you need pickpocketing perks to do that, he said he was a mage

Don't guards level up with you? If so, then if you're a high level, most spells are useless for stealth killing so you're SOL

If you need someone killed and don't wanna get your hands dirty you could always do the black sacrament. :bunny:

Kidding obviously but that would be cool if we could do it.

Yep easy, Just find a guard in the upper walls of the city. then sneeze at him in sneak mode (fus ro dah) he falls to his death and you wont get arrested because a guard will tell u off to not use shouts but no bounty (only works once)

Okay, how about this:

Since you're new to killing people (yes/no), you decide the best thing to do is hire someone to kill a guard. You tell them its something personal, and they'll never know any more than that. I know you don't want a companion, but hear this out.
On your travels toward Solitude, you hire a merc from a tavern, or perhaps a different person if there are good sneaky killers for hire somewhere. You hire this guy strictly under the pretext of killing a guard for you. 500 now to hire them, and 500 more when they do the deed. Take this companion to a place near Solitude, but not Solitude proper... I'm thinking perhaps the Solitude Sawmill, or Katla's farm. One of those should have a lone guard on patrol. While you are hidden, tell the companion to attack the guard at night. No one will see and you'll have your dead guard. Give your companion another 500 gold, and dismiss them, a job well done. You've only spent a few minutes having a companion, but its a cool way to use one. Drag the body to the bushes, strip it, and hide it well. Waltz into Solitude that morning in your new duds and continue with your roleplay as a new guard in town.

What do you think of that approach?
