Ya but I sold that.... and that doesnt fit into my rp I haven't really flushed out my story, But as a mage I grow tired of chasing magic staves for the council (college), and there are people in solitude who need to die - because.........(fill in blanks)...to do this I have devised a plan to kill a guard, take his post and kill people, not just any one but specifics, who? (I dont know...fill in more blanks). This will increase my armour and sword - because then I will leave the guards and strike out to slay the vampires in this new DLC.... there's lots of wholes left to be filled.... your help in me beginning with this is much appreciated
Okay, how about this:
Since you're new to killing people (yes/no), you decide the best thing to do is hire someone to kill a guard. You tell them its something personal, and they'll never know any more than that. I know you don't want a companion, but hear this out.
On your travels toward Solitude, you hire a merc from a tavern, or perhaps a different person if there are good sneaky killers for hire somewhere. You hire this guy strictly under the pretext of killing a guard for you. 500 now to hire them, and 500 more when they do the deed. Take this companion to a place
near Solitude, but not Solitude proper... I'm thinking perhaps the Solitude Sawmill, or Katla's farm. One of those should have a lone guard on patrol. While you are hidden, tell the companion to attack the guard at night. No one will see and you'll have your dead guard. Give your companion another 500 gold, and dismiss them, a job well done. You've only spent a few minutes having a companion, but its a cool way to use one. Drag the body to the bushes, strip it, and hide it well. Waltz into Solitude that morning in your new duds and continue with your roleplay as a new guard in town.
What do you think of that approach?
