(Sleeping Companions) Am I missing something?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 1:05 am

[xbox 360]

I can command a follower to sleep in a bed (or hay pile, or whatever) the same as to sit in a chair, e.g., but as soon as I exit the command (or hit any button on the controller, for that matter), the follower always gets out of bed (unlike a chair, where they'll remain sitting). Am I missing something obvious, or is there no way to have a follower sleep* without having to stand there watching them while still stuck in command mode?

*[Poor Eola, I think she's getting sleep deprived. Why, just yesterday, she summoned a Dremora when we were attacked by a lone wolf -- I'm afraid she's turned to skooma to stay awake and it's making her a bit jittery.]

Tell Lydia to sleep in a double bed.

Does this fix that?

It`s always annoyed me too that if I tell Lydia to sleep in one bed I can`t quit out cos she always gets up. But she`s fine sitting in a chair?

Also, I miss how they don`t move and lie rock solid like they`re dead. In Oblivion and FO3 they actually moved a little while asleep- Not immersive.

I find it odd that no matter what ungodly hour I return home in the night, Lydia is still up and doing things around the house, get some damn sleep woman. (I have mod to fix her sitting in my room all day)

No, I was joking. It won't fix anything, but you might find her response humorous.

You mean she actually does things besides sit in the same chair eating the same bread she's been eating since forever?

Hmm, I could pass that piece of bread around the homeless and starving, seems to have some form of magic nestled within it. The constantly regenerating loaf of bread will feed the world!

Serious note though, it's a mod and yeah, she does all sorts of things, cook, sit around (in different chairs, and never in my room :D), use the alchemy, use the enchanter, sometimes she is in the basemant training on a dummy thing. (Search Nexus for Breezehome Renovated) :)

Eek! Well, at least I knows it ain't just my thick head that's preventing them from sleeping. Definitely an immersion-buster though. Is it known whether this is a bug vs. intentional for some reason (and, therefore, unlikely to be corrected in a future patch)?

It`s got to be a bug they never got round to fixing because it makes no sense at all. Maybe they`ll fix it in a Patch.

Another thing, and I've only noticed this with Mjoll the Lioness, but I assume it happens with other followers...have you noticed that after you've asked them to sleep in a bed, if you click on them they don't say anything while they get up, but you get a new "Speech options" list. Something like, "Yes, let me show you." or "No, never mind". What's that about?!
