There's a handful of named dragons that spawn at specific locations (the list is on UESP somewhere).

Nothing special about them.

There are 9 named dragons, they come out of those big circular graves. If youre lucky you get to see Alduin raising them personally.

im pretty sure the story states "All Dragons" are rezed by Alduin, only the ones at certain graves have names (look at the map in Delphines basemant/HQ for those areas)

Oh, I will. ...as soon as I learn the Nightlight spell...it's scary down there. :o

(Children in the US who are afraid of the dark have small, dim plug-in lights called nightlights. Y'all probably call 'em somethin' like Gloom Wonkers in yer' neck of the woods. :D )

The non random dragons have names (there are a few exception like those in Skuldafn and those 10 guarding the dragon walls). These dragons appear even if the random dragons spawning events are disabled via the console

Really? Cool! Then I'll finally have a use for all my torches, instead of letting them rot away in boxes at Breezehome. And maybe I'll take some torchbug thoraxes with me too, to lighten my path a bit. ^^ I'm about to enter the ruin after all.

...

... I'm overexpecting things again, aren't I? :sadvaultboy:

Mirmulnir is the very first dragon the Dragonborn kills. So are named dragons more challenging? When I killed Sahloknir, I was having problems with Elder Dragons. Now Elder Dragons aren't any problem, I'm just a bit worried about the Ancient ones though.

If you ask me, they should only have names like Jefferson and Washington.
