SLIDING. . .FTW.

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:00 am

So with my light class solider, I am having too much fun. I am working on combos that start with a molotov into a slide, then a knife melee with my pistol then to a sprint cook on my grenade then switch back to my SMG then into a slide then switch to pistol and I just killed like 5 enemies with about half my life left. Questions?

This game is awesome. I just wish people wouldn't hate on it.

I learned in life a long time ago that if we did what others say or think like others say you are going to have a dull and bland life. Be what you are, love what you want and live how you see fit. Cheers!

Sliding helped get me take down the ENTIRE enemy team solo as a Light Operative. In under 40 seconds. I lost my two bonus Health pips (Battle Hardened and a Medic buff), and only had 3 bullets left in my Galactic, but my goal of "blunt the enemy assault" had turned into "MURDER EVERYONE!" quite accidentally.

Friendly Soldier planted HE charge on the door blacking our maintenance robot's path. As he was doing this, I finished hacking the side door, and came around to see an enemy Engineer setting up his MG nest. My team stayed back by the robot waiting, while I made sure they didn't need to.

By the time the charge went off, I had 8 Resistance members down, with only 2 of them still squirming.

If I hadn't been able to transition from slide into a melee finish against the Heavies, I never would have survived.

I really need to start trying light then haha. I'm actually surprised how your saying that as light you have more survivability and options. I never really wanted to try light because as fast as you die when you get hit by hard bots as a medium, I thought you'd just explode. I suppose you need to get the tricks down to do a successful light though don't you :P.

As a light you just need to know the maps better than everyone else. You need to have a bag of tricks always at your disposal to trick players. And know when to run, that's a must.

Oh no... You don't have more survivability.

You're easy as hell to take down once someone gets you in their sights - you just need to get better at not letting them reach that point.

Heavy bodies have less options when it comes to how they approach the enemy - it's always on your opponent's terms, pretty much. Lights can control the battlefield, and if your enemies are never aiming at you when you turn the corner, they're not going to land too many hits.
