I went through all the main quests.. have fought dragons and ghoulies and long legged beasties.. talked to and ridden on dragons to finally kill the World Eater and now it is all still the same. Irileth still is barely polite.. the kids are as irritating as ever, the guards think I was foolish to let a dragon go.. and the Jarl just tells me he still has a city to protect!
So what was the point of it all ? there are still dragon attacks, true there is still a lot I have not seen or done but would it not been more realistic , from a RP point of view to get some kind of recognition ? The Jarl was there when I trapped the dragon,was there as I flew on a dragon to save his world so why was I not greeted as a hero ?

I am hoping they left all this out because of a future end of main quest extension DLC... If not.... Then owch.

One of the many problems with the game's story and characters yet I'm guessing they deemed it unnecessary to add these. Possibly because it wouldn't fit on 1 disk (but even still it would probably fit). It would extend the release date. Or maybe because its something after the end of the game and thought nobody would notice.

Agreed. It really takes me out of the story.
